Memory not there after installing emulators/roms PLEASE HELP

I just spent hours downloading emulators and roms for my psp. I have a 1gb stick and have had emulators and roms on it and working before. I installed a bunch of stuff and after doing so I unplugged it and try to run them. It said there were no games and the psp wouldnt read the card. I tried to format it and it said there was no card. My computers wont recognize it either now. Is there anything I can do?? If i get another card and install the emulators and roms how do I know it wont happen again? Im pretty upset. I just spent 30 bucks on the card.

Is your memory stick genuine?

Are you connecting your PSP through USB or a memory card reader?

i got it on ebay, but according to sony its real. I am using a usb cord with the psp. I think im just gonna return it.

edit:
try this.... put your card in adapter and then try to reformat it using vista or xp.
i saved my mem stick...but ..as my stick is not genuine...god knows how many more time ill have to do that
