ps1 games on 3.03oe-c problems

Hey

just upgraded my 1.5 psp to 3.03 with the easy upgrader, and its all looking good except i can't play ps1 games on it. i've downloaded discworld 2; which already came in the eboot.pbp and keys.bin format.. i copied them into psp/games but when i selected them from the psp to run them it crashes... like, there's no errors, but the menu's all disapear and all i can do is stare at my psp background with the waves moving up and down.. left it like that for 10 minutes, then switched it off. as i understood it, 3.03oe-c firmware should be able to play ps1 games in eboot.pbp and keys.bin format.

any ideas?

first of all. dont download games. Buy them! now to answer your question. i suggest that you upgrade to 3.40oe-a coz it has a better psx emulation compatibility. have you installed a theme? did you replace the opening_plugin.rco? if that is the case look for mime's guide here. it's title is. "How to have a custom coldboot while having psx emulation at thsame time." thats not the exact title but it is similar to that

ah cool, that's probably it then, i put a costum theme on that must have messed it up. cheers for pointing me in the direction of the thread that explains how to get round that, i'll investigate further.

as for buying games, i do own a lot of legit games, i've only downloaded discworld and thrillkill to put on my psp, whereby thrillkill was never available to buy, and i own discworld for the PC, but it won't play on my vista as i bought it the first time round, back on windows 95 i think haha. i guess there's an arguement i should buy the psx version to convert, it's not like with the snes where it'd be a big hassle for me to convert all my old games into roms... but i think on the whole i am quite supportive of the games industry. i rarely download something i have not bought legitimatly at one stage or other
