anybody figure out how to get past that one lunar cry FMV where the monsters come down to earth? i've tried the same scene with 3.72 pops, 3.71 pops, original from flash, and with the pops plugin disabled and i still get stuck (either right before the vid or immediately after)

EDIT: FMV plays with pops enabled (original from flash, 3.72, and 3.71) but freezes right after...doesn't play at all without pops enabled

wat game ID are you currently using? SLPS-02180??
that game ID is stable, but if u dont think it is a problem with ur eboot and the ID then you could try SLPS-01222 as it is also a stable ID...

perhaps it is the CD's that you are using to rip the game if you have gone through the steps with pops and the changing of the game ID

    Agreed.

SLPS-02180 with 4.01 M33 (Original from flash) works best for me. If I encounter a problem, I just switch POPs temporarily to 3.72, 3.71, etc.

cheema/KmR - i figured out the problem...turns out that as i reset my psp the disc-read speed went back down to normal....game will run smoothly after the lunar cry FMV with 3.71 pops and disc-read speed to FAST

I joined just to say thaaank you to this. I've been trying to get it to work for some time now, but couldn't follow the multidisc eboot everyone raves about because of my mem stick. After upgrading from 3.90 m33 and switching from SLPS-01222, it worked perfectly. And I got past those damn iguions.

Well, so far I have been so annoyed with this game. I will be trying the solution (Update 2) listed in the OP and so will my buddy. Hopefull it will work.

Pink Housing & White Buttons PSP 1000 -> 5.00 M33-3 with Popsloader & CW Cheat - Customised for a Little Princess

My opinion counts, even if it is fucking useless!

Can anyone confirm that 4.01 pops and ID:SLPS-02180 works on PAL versions? Noone seems to have mentioned which region of game they're using for this.

Try it. Also, I'm pretty sure there is a PAL/NTSC converter of some sort for FFVIII. Google my friend.

ok, well i just updated my PSP to 4.01 m33-2 and i disabled popsloader cause it was freezing at gamelaunch....

im using the SPLS 02810 ID, and iv just played from the begining to beating the SeeD exam, without freezing once (i have the game running on Fast speed in the settings),

iv used Scan about 8 times, and although u can tell its .... working hard.. it doesnt freeze.
also used all the magics u get till there and drawn ALOT out of each enemy.

so just to say this seems to work great for now

(il also add that it hasnt skipped any FMV/cutscenes up until now )

    (my game is NTSC)

    Umm...
I'm not too sure how I'm meant to change the game ID...
I've tried putting in the new one when converting it using PSX2PSP, but it "encounters a problem".

I'm all the way on disc 3 of FF8 and now the game will not load up with whatever frame rate I put it on... I have gotten so far and I dont want to start over.. is there any way to fix this? Someone told me to change the game ID SLUS-00892 but its already that... because I used ImpalerPSX to convert it but it just doesnt show up at all... I converted it to eboot from a .img a ccd and a .sub, is there anything else I can do?
