Recently got my slim PSP and am running 3.90m33-3 with SnesxTYL 0.4.2 (3.xx). On two different occasions now, with Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia, I'll go to load my current state and the sound is "stuck". Just a constant ringing sound. Ok, it's a RPG, so sound isn't my biggest priority. However, whenever this happens, the next time a dialog box appears, or the screen needs to load, the game just locks up. I can exit the game, play another game just fine, then go back and reload the state and it does the same thing. So I'm assuming the save state is corrupted? I'm halfway through the game and would hate to start over. Any ideas?

Why use a save feature when you can save EXACTLY when and where you want?

Omegasox-what kind of memory card do you have? I noticed having save state problems with generic memory, even when I had no other problems at all with the card itself.

Why use native saves? I'll tell you why. Savestates are notoriously buggy and very prone to developing problems exactly like this. They are not a foolproof replacement. Any errors caused by saving and loading states, no matter how small, will eventually build up through excessive use and in cases like this break down the game's code.

Funny thing is, I had been using the in-game saves the entire way as well, but at points I just wanted to set it down so would use the save state. I just loaded up the previous in-game saves I had and went from there; have not had any problems at all with that.

okstranger - It's the 1gb that comes with the PSP. I believe it's the emulator itself that causes the problem. I sort of remember it happening even when I ran the emu on my laptop (years ago). In-game saves it is for now on; nothing worse than playing an rpg for 2+ hours and having to retrace your steps...brutal!
