I'm about to give up on this s**t!

Stoopid Sony...why do they have to make all of this so friggin difficult? My PSP is currently running 3.90 M33-2. I'm having trouble running a bunch of PSX games, which was my main reason for buying and hacking my PSP in first place. I can't run Chrono Cross or any Resident Evil game. I've read/heard a bunch of different stuff, some sources say I need 3.71 M33 for the best PSX compatibility. I've read some other things that mention changing game IDs and what not. I'm tired of sifting through all this crap and would just like some clear cut answers. I don't need anyone to hold my hand, I just need some reliable information. I'm really about to just say screw all of this and sell my PSP.

I downloaded and installed the 3.80 popsloader after doing a forum search. Yes I enabled it through the recovery menu. But what does this have to with 3.51 firmware? When I press the trigger while the game (CC) is loading, I get the following options:

3.00 pops
3.01 pops
3.02 pops
3.03 pops
3.10 pops
3.11 pops

I see nothing here relating to 3.51 firmware. My PSP is a fatty if that's important.

Selecting any of these options causes my PSP to completely freeze, even the home button. It then powers down if I don't power it down. I really want this to work, but I'm about to look into other options for handheld emulation.

I beat RE2 and 3 on PSP without a problem, on the other hand, it looks liek Chrono Cross isn't too smooth yet.
