Hopefully this is the right place to post.

Is there a way to get the save data off of my games without copying the entire eboot back onto my HD?
For example copying and moving the save data on the "memory card" from the eboot?

I just thought what if something happened and I lose all my save data

As for now, I think I'll copy my stuff back onto my HD
Any points in the right direction would be appreciated.

You can transfer the data from computer to memory card and back again with a DexDrive. In this way I suppose you could back it up on a regular memory card. You can buy those DexDrive off of eBay. I'm not quite sure if this is what you mean. But this may help: PSX on PSP - Memory Card Handling - TheGamersPress

urrr.. I don't think this is for me.

From what I understand, you pointed me to hardware for extracting save data from playstation memory cards and converting it into a readable format for the PSP.

I'm trying to extract the data from the embedded memory card within each PSX "eboot.php" file on my PSP.

But... they're not in the eboot files at all. Why would they be there? PS1 virtual memory cards are in the same place PSP game saves are.

eli 90 at first directed u to the wrong place with 'dexdrive' however if u read the link that was provided u would get wat u want..

wat u can do is dump the entire memory card from any psx game on the psp to ur psp's memory stick using cwcheat... the memory card will be saved as the gameID followed by the memory card number then .mcr like so SCUS-94613-0.mcr or something like that anyways.. i think that is ff7's game id but i mite be wrong coz im doing this from memory...

so download cwcheat and wen u r in the game which u want to bak up ur saves.. simply access the cwcheat menu (holding select for several seconds) and then choosing 'manage memory cards' then 'save to memory stick'

or something along those lines anyways... then usb ur PSP to ur computer and search in ur cwcheats folder under mc for memory card and ur backed up memory card file will be there... X:\seplugins\cwcheat\mc\

that is just a rought guide but i hope u understand... if not then let us know and we will explain in more detail

    Ohoo....
I thought that they weren't cause of the special memory card utility thing that you can access in some of the PSX titles.
I looked into the Savedata folder and found everything, thanks for the clarification Tets.

I did read the article from eli though. As I read on and it was only talking about .MCR files, which I have none of in my memorystick, I thought "this isn't for me"

Thanks for the input, now I can rest easy with my savedata synchronised in a briefcase
