    I'm having a problem with my PSX game on my PSP even after following cheema201's step by step guide on popsloader..

    I'm trying to play Final Fantasy 9, but after the XMX works perfectly and you load the game, nothing happens except a black screen.

    I followed the guide to the letter, read several forums on the matter, and used pops 3.71 and 3.72 like it has been suggested before to other users on a thread for the same game, but still nothing works for me. I don't know what I did wrong, please help? Thanks for reading.

    I haven't put FF9 on my PSP yet, but you could try the recommendations they have here:

    I was going to suggest that, but it suggests no changing of the game ID's or anything.

    So meh.

    Thanks for replying guys, I appreciate it. I used the suggestions stated at that site and still nothing...

    =======================

    EDIT: I fixed my problem! Thankfully I didn't give up and figured something out. For anyone who has the same problem of converting a file to EBOOT and all you get is a black screen when you try to start it up on the PSP, remember these hints!

    01. If you used one converter program and the file is giving you the black screen problem, try using another program. Some programs sometimes cause errors in the conversion process for specific games, so sometimes you have to look around to find the right one. Programs: MagicISO, Icetea, Popstation, PSX2PSP, Alcohol 120% (All freeware)

    02. Try downloading Popsloader (Step By Step Popsloader Installation Guide)

    03. If the above doesn't seem to work, you may have a corrupted file. That's what happened to me. Which is something that is hard to detect because you are never given an error message about the file until you see the dreaded black screen on your PSP. So if after all attempts you're still having problems, you need to delete the old file and find another source for a newer one (Like re-ripping the PSX discs). Once you get the newer file...

    Start the conversion process all over again. If you have any problems, remember the guides section!

    Um... (you need to delete the old file and find another source for a newer one (Like re-ripping the PSX discs). Once you get the newer file...) Re-ripping how could it be a newer tan the first time you ripped it? (Unless one was non-greatest hits and the other is.) PSX games are pretty cheap these days, you should just buy and rip them and not pirate them as this will be the best iso you can get. Not saying you are pirating... just a thought. (Be careful what you say, it could be misinterpreted)

    Oh sorry if it was misinterpreted! But re-ripping does help because it worked for me I've read on other forums as well that the same problem was happening to some people, and they fixed it by re-ripping. Reason being because sometimes the first time they tried to extract the game from the discs it got corrupted along the way (For many factors besides the disk being bad, like the computer used couldn't handle the process or another program working at the same time you're ripping interfered somehow). Anyway, it's just from my observation and my experience, if it doesn't work for others then I tried.

    I don't know if the thread below might help? If it doesn't answer your question, then I'm not sure since I haven't used IceTea to convert multiple images. Oh and sorry it's all spaced out, I'm not allowed to post URLs now for some reason when I did above :/
