Found a setting that makes Donkey Kong Country work fullspeed with NO frameskip!

Go to Hack/Debug Menu, then turn ON Ignore palette writes.

This makes it work 100% from what I can tell on a game that laged a lot before so. I have no tried this on other games yet.

Only slow down I had was on the map, but I'll have to check it out and add it to the note on my emu thread.

Tried it on 2 and 3 as well and it works there as well! Definite add thx.

yeah i also tried this with killer instinct, worked like a charm!!

btw, I tried kirby superstar on the "test 5" release of snes9xTYL and if you mess with the debug/hack menu, turn off BG3 (I think it is), change the frame skips to AUTO, it works pretty decent. A few laggy parts, and music slows down and speeds up randomly, but other than that it has way better performance on "test 5" than the earlier releases. All of this while keep the psp at 300mhz.

Sometimes it seems like the snes emulator works better, if the psp is not overclocked.

I almost think we should start a thread with information on all snes roms that people can contribute to, as to what settings they use to get the best performance out of games, it would be very helpful, and would save a lot of new threads being born. =D

I do post this in the notes section for the emulator my thread in my sig and I do monitor emulation threads fairly consistently. I'll see what I can come up with for Kirby for you. (Plus I'll add that this helps with KI as well.)

It helps with a few games I've noticed, I've been into Chrono Trigger lately, and everytime I talk to someone it does the lag thing. This helpped great (Along with DKC =)

Sneaking psp out of bookbag to try...

I hope this works as I have neglected DKC because it was so laggy. Do we need to set the emu everytime for each game, or will it change permanently and for each game?

the nes emulator im using has 'save settings as default' option which i think saves the setting for all the games (not very sure yet of this things since i just got my psp for only a few days).
your emulator might have one too.

Does anyone know how to get DK to run better on Daedalus 64? I'm having a lot of trouble running it and a few other games.
