I'm considering buying a psp and I was wondering whether it is easier to run a psx emulator on the 1000 compared to the 2000.

06-03-2009, 04:45 PM The slim is lighter and (i have 2 phats and 2 slims) and i cannot use the phat dpad in 8 directions! thier just toooooo stiff! playing iss pro when you need to run at angles is sooo hard using a psp 1000. The slim pad is softer and easier to control the action. Both consoles do exactly the same thing so go for slim anyday.
06-05-2009, 07:52 AM dont forget that the slim also has video out so you can connect it to a tv, as the phatass does not :P
06-05-2009, 02:46 PM The Slim has 2x the internal RAM - a few homebrew take advantage of this (the webbrower and IRShell). Still, not really significant IMO.

gotta love the TV out capabilities and i also use skype on there from time to time...

06-10-2009, 03:35 AM There's not much difference. I have 2 phat PSP's and 1 slim. I use the fat one to play emus and PSone games, the slim one for the TV connection and IRshell. Oh, and don't forget the Remotejoy, then again, why bother, the slim can be hooked up to the TV anyway.

1000
pros: hacking ease, better durability, seems better made, ir, umd slot is also by far more durable, battery has longer battery life(not sure about this)
Cons: biggest issues with ghosting, heavier, fatter, no tv capibilities, doesnt have slims brighter screen, 32 mb ram vs slims 64 mb ram
2000
pros: brighter screen, ghosting occurs less and/or to a lesser degree, lighter, slimmer, 64 mb ram, multitasking with ir shell
cons: doesnt seem as durable, feels fragile, feels cheaply made, no ir, not as many CFW capabilities as 1000
they both pretty much do the same things so i think any1 shud just go with wat catches there eye design wise
