How do I cheat PSone Eboots in PSP?

So I'm new here and also new on this PSP emu thing. Well, down to business, I have recently learnt to convert PSone iso files into PSP Eboots and can play the game without any problems. I've been playing the game (Front Mission 3) for some time now and I think I want to cheat the game for some more fun. So I have search the net and found the CWCheat thing and found this "How to Install and Use CWCHEAT | Farneville - Technology, Reviews, How To, Guides, and Just About Everything." Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. So I came here to ask if someone knows how do I cheat PSone games (which are converted into Eboots) in PSP? I really desperate to know this! Hopefully I'll be able to play this nostalgic game with my full ideal enjoyment. Thanks in advance!

You cheat using CWCheat as you already found out.

How didn't it work for you? Did the program work at all? Did when you open CWCheat your game not show? Was it the code that didn't work? Did you look for any other guides for CWCheat that may be a bit more extensive than that guide?

The only other way you may want to do it is to ask someone nicely to upload a save file at the start of the game with cheats already implemented that do not need to be active (some gameshark codes must be active in order to sustain their effect, others may need to only be turned on once - like Max hp, vs current hp... max hp only need to be initiated once, current hp would change with the value of the code and when it is turned on.)

You really should be able to put CWCheat on your psp yourself. It is a simple plugin.

Also you should make sure that CWCheat has been enabled in Recovery mode, which that guide you linked to does not even mention.

Ahh thanks for your comment, cheema201. I can't seem to get the cheat screen open. That site says I can open it just by pressing the Select button and hold it for a little while. FIY: This method works just fine with my PSP ISOs.

So could you please tell me how do I get it open so I can select cheats and enable them? Please, anyone. Thanks again.

well, go to recovery mode first, by turning off your psp, holding the R trigger and turn it on, there you should be able to access the recovery mode, go to Plugins, then 'enable' cwcheatpops.prx.

I got into recovery mode by a different method (pressing L & R buttons and hold em then press Select) and I went to plugins, it says:
cwcheat.prx [VSH] Enabled
395_vsh.prx [VSH] Enabled
cwcheat.prx [GAME] Enabled
395_game.prx [GAME] Enabled
cfwblock.prx [GAME] Enabled

So I didn't make any change as you said to enable it since it was enabled already. I started the game and tried the Select button again but to no avail. Any other ways?

well, you dont have CWCHEATPOPS.PRX. thats your problem.

CWCheat 2.3 Released | Download CWCheat 2.3, PSP Hacks - PSP Slim Hacks

go get that, then extract the cheatpops.db
extract it to your psp's memstick and put it in ms0:/Seplugins/CWcheat/ create folder if its not there.

then go to ms0/seplugins and look for 'pops.txt'
open that in notepad and add this line

ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheatpops.prx 1

save and close, that should do it.

Yes make sure that "ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheatpops.prx 1" is added. Otherwise it wont show in recovery mode.

Also make sure that after you have these changes that it is enabled in recovery mode.

cwcheat and cwcheatpops are different things. One is for PSP games and the other is for PSX games.

I'm actually having this issue trying to get CWCheats to work on my PSP for my PSX games now.

I followed the above instructions and it didn't work for me and I have a [GAME] and [POPS] version of the cwcheatpops.prx in my recovery plugins menu with both enabled I still can't get the menu to pop up during a game while I play my PSX games the PSP games version works fine tho.

I have the newest cheat database for CWCheat updated at the start of 2012 and its the largest file size out of all I could find on the internet.

I am having problems as well, the cwcheats works for my psp games, but not the PSX when i hold the select button. Nothing happens. I am using 6.60 PRO B-10. Can anyone please help? I've been searching links and youtube videos all night. I'm stumped..
