Tutorial: How to have a Customized Coldboot + PSX Emulation working at the same time
aight, i only read through the first few pages here, im having a problem that it doesnt seem anyone has asked. i cant find that offset.... it only goes up to offset B150. and im using the flash0:\vsh\nodule\game_plugin.prx. once i changed the opening_plugin.rco to have the PSP stuff not show up at the gameboot screen. thats when this stuff didnt work..... any ideas as to how i can make the PSP stuff not show up on the gameboot, and have my own custom coldboot?? |

Tutorial: How to have a Customized Coldboot + PSX Emulation working at the same time
Okay. I've tried nearly all of the different fixes for this, and the last one I tried was the LOLStation fix for 3.40. Now, when I try to start a PSX game, it says that the game could not be started, followed by a different error code depending on where I put the PSX game (I tried 340, 150, and normal, just in case). Either way, I can't seem to get any of these to work. I don't think this has anything to do with the RCOs, as the only real files you add are the original opening_plugin (unmodded), and rename it to 0pening. I dont see how replaceing all of your RCOS would help, and to my knowledge, it would undue the majority of the theme or mod you are using.
EDIT: *sigh*,,, even after I replace my game_plugin.prx and opening_plugin.rco back to the backups I had, it still gives me this: "The game could not be started. (80000004)". I have no clue whatsoever as to how this is possible.
Any ideas? I was so happy when I got my theme to work entirely, but now I can't even play my old PSX games.
EDIT: I FOUND THE PROBLEM! Somehow, one of the firmware or mods I put on it changed my fake region to absolutely nothing. Literally. Not enabled, disabled, anything. I even went as far as to upgrade to the new 3.51 before I found it out. Yay for me, and anyone else with this problem. I think someone should sticky a future post about general problems, and they're fixes. :P

you can edit them in RCO Editor, & there is no need for any fixes. so you can have cold boot + psx games without hex editing or anything!
infact, Re-Director thats the link for the RCO's for 3.40
all you need to do ie either 1) use the opening_plugin.rco from the zip to make your coldboot, or if you;ve already got 1, do 2) open RCO Editor, open you current coldboot file, extract all to a folder, open up the RCO from the zip, select replace multiple, find the folder you just extracted to, once its done, your done just copy the file to your flash0 as usual |
Thanks alot I spend OVER an hour trying to do the hex editor stuff but it never found my offset then in 1 min after reading your post I got MGS for the PSX working Thanks

Tutorial: How to have a Customized Coldboot + PSX Emulation working at the same time
I AM SOO CONFUSED, i attempted this guide on 3.52 m33, i kinda freehanded it on the hex part i searched for the text string to find the correct offset....when i attempted to copy over my files it went ok but then after taht when i tryed to access the psx games on the memcard my PSP froze
copied over my abckup and it was fixed...i tryed giving up and just copying back over the original coldboot file but i'm still getting the game could not be started error 80010002
i dont want to get ride of my gameboot b/c i like it but i dont know what to do...can someone who has done this on 3.52m33 upload their files and i will jsut modify your coldboot w/ rco editor

I had that same error man. Go into the recovery menu, and change your fake region settings around,, I think I said something in my post above it.
That IS the exact error I got, though...
