Firmware Installed: 3.52m33-4&3.80m33-5

Default 3.40oe-3.90m33 Custom Firmware Installation Guide. VERY NOOB friendly

I believe NOOBs have a hard time with the README files located in every custom firmware package, because they are written for people who have an understanding of homebrew. This guide will go in to detail on how to install 3.40oe-4.01m33-2 on PSPs currently running 1.50 (fat).

If your fat PSP is NOT running 1.50 scroll to the bottom of this page for info.

To use the downloaded files, you will need the WINRAR program installed on your computer. If you do not have WINRAR, scroll to the bottom of this page for more info.

NO ONE BUT YOURSELF CAN BE BLAMED IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR PSP. DO NOT BLAME ME, DO NOT BLAME THE CUSTOM FIRMWARE DEVELOPERS, DO NOT BLAME THE LINKED SITES, DO NOT BLAME PSPMOD.COM

NEVER SHUT YOUR PSP OFF DURING AN UPDATE. If you must leave during the custom firmware installation, when you return, click the brightness key on the psp. This will then activate the screen so you can tell if it has finished or is still working.

With any firmware modification, make sure you have at least a 75% battery life, or are using the AC charger.

****DOWNGRADE TO 1.50****
Follow this guide:
http://www.pspmod.com/forums/firmwar...6-27-07-a.html

****WINRAR****
WINrar is a WINDOWS program that extracts compressed files. You can download it here: WinRAR - Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com
Download it to your desktop, and then double click it to install.
To use winrar once it is installed, right click the .rar file and select EXTRACT HERE.

****USB CONNECTION****
Hook up the usb cable from your PSP to pc. On the psp, go to SETTINGS, then scroll down to USB CONNECTION and click it.
If you have a windows 98 computer, you may need to install a USB Mass Storage Driver. You can download the driver from:
Windows 98 USB Mass Storage Device Drivers

****3.52m33-4 Clearing Cache and Cookies****
There was an issue with a ps3news.com and Team M33. The owner of ps3news.com basically stole the source code for the M33 Custom firmware, he modified it, released it to the public knowing it was a bricker. M33 protected themselves by coding the -4 update to not install on PSPs that had ps3news.com in their cookies or cache. Buy not installing, it would corrupt the internal memory on the psp, causing it to brick. I recommend clearing everything if you've been to this site or not

woah pretty good guide this is dumbass-proof, just a correction, the person must have 3.52 M33-3 or 3.52 M33-4, it is clearly stated in the readme

its not a correction, because the -4 update installs all 4 updates, and because i didnt want to explain both the -3 and -4 update, going to the -4 update is shorter to write.
but yes, technically you can go from 3.52m33-3 to 3.71m33.

seriously, with that guide, i dont think you can screw it up. Everything is NOOB proof. I tell you how to start the freakin usb connection!

you need a converter, the themes are pathetic (.ptf files loaded from ms), you need cxmb 2.5 for coldboots, cintros. there is a 150 kernel addon. i would say 3.52 M33-4 is #1.

3.71 in general, doesn't matter, ofw or cfw, can have official themes. alot of themes have been converted for 3.71, but are all loaded from the ms, not flash, reason for this is sony secured the flash, so anything overwritten to flash bricks the psp. cxmb is a program that lets you have coldboots and cintros. im sticking to 3.52 M33-4 until i need 3.71 for a game or if i suddenly get slim

3.52 M33-4, is completely better that 3.40 OE, without a doubt, there are no pros and cons.
