Firmware Installed: 3.80 M33-5

Default 3.40oe-3.90m33 Custom Firmware Installation Guide. VERY NOOB friendly

Have been roaming the net for a while looking for some help to mod my PSP, as I'm completly new to it. This guide helped me upgrade from 3.52 M33-4 up to 3.80 M33-5 (which I use because currently all my stuff is running on it and I see now reason to upgrade further. Might do it in the future though.).

I just wanted to thank you for this guide, as it's been very thorough and easy to follow. Cheers.

4.01 m33-2 would run all your stuff fine as well plus newer stuff, and has quite a few more support and such, but if your happy with 3.80 so be it.congrats on the upgrades

Default 3.40oe-3.90m33 Custom Firmware Installation Guide. VERY NOOB friendly

this is to regards of installing 4.01M33.
i currently have 3.52m33-4 On the fat.
after placing the first folder into GAME, i was supposed to place the custom firmware into it.and so it said, "#5. Go back to the 4.01 Official Firmware Update folder that you created for the PSP_400_FW_UPDATE download. Right Click the PSP_400_FW_UPDATE and rename it to 401.pbp"

i followed exactly what it said n loaded it from game in my psp and it says folder cant be read. so i tried taking the eboot file out and rename it too and it ended up with being a incorrect file.
may i know what went wrong? i have already successfully downgrade my 3.40oea to 1.50 and upgrade it till 3.52M33-4.

Firmware Installed: CF 3.80 M33-5

Default 3.40oe-3.90m33 Custom Firmware Installation Guide. VERY NOOB friendly

I'm following drew00629's guide and I'm having a problem. I have a PSP with 3.80 M33 and the other with 3.80 M33-5 and the same problem is happening to both.

I download the 4.01 Official Upgrade and the 4.01M33 files and extract them. I renamed the PSP_400_FW_UPDATE -> EBOOT.PBP file to 401.pbp and placed it inside the 401 M33's Update Folder and placed the Update folder inside PSP/Game then started my PSP and ran the PSP Update ver 4.01 File through the PSP.

Unpacking... done.
Please wait...

Verifying 401.PBP... Incorrect file.

Has anyone else got this problem. I've ran through the process 3 times and redownloaded all the files each time and tried it on both PSPs. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

If you have Wi-Fi you can go to "Network Update" in the PSP XMB. It will get you the latest CFW. Which is 4.01 M33-2. Also. Before you do this, hold "R" when you turn on your PSP. A menu should come up. Go to Configuration and make sure the "M33 network update" or w/e it's called is ENABLED.

I had the same problem.

Get the eboot off of here and follow the usual instructions.
Search google for 'PSP 4.01 Eboot' and it should be the second or third one, there is a rapidshare link. That one worked for me.
