Default Easy 4.01 Custom Firmware Installer

I can't install the 1.50 kernel addon for 4.01 to the new Dark Alex firmware update. It tells me after I press x that I have incorrect 1.50 pbp at root.

Please help.

Thanks

Thank you so much PSP mod!! - I'm a noob to all of this.

Your guide and video were so concise and easy to follow - from creating my MMS to installing CFW and updating - No problems at all.

Going to check out some emulators now and see what the firmware can do.

Thanks again and all the best

same here, i have psp slim. i just copied folder UPDATE that's it, not getting any further than that error message.

++ EDIT ++

Never mind the above post, I did some research on my own and I realized I'll need Pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick for this to work, on the other hand my slim already have official Sony 4.01 firmware. Will I be able to install this firmware straight form official to custom? is there's any other additional steps I'll need to take? I'm completely new to this I just want the ability to run .cso or .iso games

by the way, excellent guide and can't wait to try it out.

Noobie question again: Can I go from OFW 3.90 on a Slim to CFW 4.01 M33/M33-2 without a Pandora's battery? Do I need 1.5 kernel too?

First of all: TY for the great guide and at the same time Thank You to all who take the time and effort to create them, you guy's and Girl's are really

Suggestion:
Since a lots of Noobs and people (lazy, out of touch with the world, and so on) like me who went to version X, 3.52 m33-4 in my case, and never found the need to go a higher version.

Would be nice if someone could state "to update to version Y (the latest) your psp need to be atleast a PSP (slim or phat) version X.

I think it with reduce the nubber of question post

Just my 2 cents

thanks for this great tutorial..im finally on 4.01 M33-2 Keep up the good work!!

btw..for the people that get the error saying "the game cannot be started", do the following thing because I had the same thing

Access the recovery mode by following the following steps:
1. Completely shut down your PSP (Not stand-by)
2. Hold the "R" button (i.e right trigger) while starting your PSP
3. You are now on recovery mode
4. Go the "Configuration"
5. In "UMD" mode, switch it to M33 UMD diabled
6. Exit the console and start your PSP normally.

This should hopefully do the trick enjoy!!
