Ultimate Downgrader Guide 2.00-3.50 *Updated 6/27/07*

This downgrade has made me a very happy man!

Btw, is there any reason why some PSPs brick, or is it just people not following the instructions exactly?

I ended buying GTA Greatest Hits, before I found out it was the wrong one.

WOW...unbelievable tutorials and I am extremely excited to give this a try.

i am honestly a complete noob to this so I do have one question I hope can be resolved.

In the downgrading process from 3.03 to 1.5...
I have 3.03 installed on my PSP and I have the downgrader downloaded.

The directions say to unzip the downgraders MS_ROOT directory into your PSP's ROOT directory.

What exactly is the PSP's Root directory?

Does this mean...take the MS_ROOT folder and place it into MP_ROOT on the PSP?

-OR-

Does this mean take the contents of the downgraders MS_ROOT directory (a folder called 'psp') and move that into MP_ROOT?

-OR- finally do they mean to just directly put it on memory stick itself and not into any folder at all?

PLEASE help, i know they are noob questions, but I even had a hard time searching the forum for these answers because I'm not even sure how specific I am being.

no, youll need to downgrade it first, i believe there is a HEND for 3.03, but then again, you might as well just downgrade

NO NO NO NO NO youll only be able to use the GTA LCS 2.0 unpatched to work, and try buying a used one at EBgames and such, ask if you can look at it in your system first

The root is the first folder after opening "portable drive" so basically as soon as you see the folders MPROOT and PSP and such, that same window is the root

just return/sell the classic hits version to ebgames, and ask to buy a used one, because you want the one that works with your psp without having to upgrade or something, or if their kids, just say you want to downgrade it and you need it

WHAT IS THE ROOT OF MY MEMORY STICK?

I connect my PSP to the PC and I see:

MP_ROOT and PSP folders

Is the root the "MP_ROOT" folder or is it the main directory I am in where I see these folders?
(I ask because the contents of the 3.03 downgrade has a folder "psp"...so do I replace the current PSP directory with this one?)
