Ultimate Downgrader Guide 2.00-3.50 *Updated 6/27/07*

i have the 2 files downloaded, but where to i need to put teh folder, it says on the root of your memory stick but for an hour i can't get anything in my picture folder, any ideas, what am i doing wrong

if anything, its not a bad thing you are a 2.71 FW, i tend to upgrade all the psp's given to me to 2.71 for downgrading, cuz i have all the files needed to downgrade, also, it would seem bricking in tif file exploite is a fat 0 percent if you do it properly, anyways, if ya need the files just send me a memo or w/e ill try and send ya the files, that is if you really cant find em on this site... its where i found em

hi im new here as u can see... I have a 2.71 and im trying to downgrade. I did everything it says here, the screen turned green etc etc....and when i tried to downgrade ( the updater X.YZ thing )it simply says "The game could not be started (80020148)"
WTF is this? any help? any cases like this before? thanks

none of them. theres no downgrader for 2.80. read the articles before posting or youd know this

no. ta-082's can only go down to 2.60

once you have downgraded can you delete the files used to downgrade from the memory stick soz for the no0b questions

yup. all the firmware files are on flash. u can wipe the card and start fresh if u wanted

[/size]Ok Julie you answered this so many times that I thought I put this in All Caps so that the people wqho didn't read the thread will see. YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE A 2.8 OR ABOVE PSP!!!!! YOU CANNOT DOWONGRADE A TA-82 below 2.5 IT WILL BRICK IT!!!!. Sorry for being so blunt but Julie has had to answer this millions of times and I feel that she deserves a break.

So how does it work? Well, all you need is Dark_AleX's 2.71 Homebrew Enabler Rev.C, and the EBOOT.PBP file of the firmware you want to downgrade to. So you can downgrade from a 2.71 to just about every other firmware including 1.50,2.0,2.01,2.50 and 2.60.
Get all the available updates here (Newb here!)

Instructions:

Download Homebrew Enabler for FW 2.71 using the Link below.
Follow the instructions in the readme file of Homebrew Enabler for 2.71 Rev.C to install HEN-C
Once done, reboot your PSP and run the Homebrew Enabler using the Photo Menu.
Now simply extract the files in the downgrader archive below to your PSP and paste the EBOOT.PBP file of the updater into the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder.
Now just run the updater using the Game menu!

Here's what Dark_AleX had to say:

"This downgrader lets a psp running firmware 2.71 and HEN C to downgrade to any version from 1.50-2.60, or even reflash the 2.71 version. This downgrader is safer, faster, and a lot easier to use than the previous downgraders. It also makes a clean firmware install, since this time there is a format of flash0 (just like sce updaters do). A firmware dump is not needed, only the eboot.pbp of an update.

Ta-082 users can downgrade to 2.70/2.60/2.50. TA-082 users, DO NOT downgrade below 2.50.

So all of you who've been waiting for a simple solution, I don't believe there can be one simpler than this. If you're still on 2.5/6, you can safely update to 2.71 and either wait it out for more homebrew, or downgrade to 1.5...But looking at all these developments, I feel that 2.71 might just just replace 1.50 as the golden firmware soon. So i thought better upgrade it back too 2.71 but still
Now nothing works in it i.e. i cant surf net, no wallpaper nothin
