Ultimate Downgrader Guide 2.00-3.50 *Updated 6/27/07*

Hello peeps, I've had a read through the forums but I would just like confirmation of the steps I need to follow.

I have a TA-082 PSP (HK region 3) with firmware 2.81. I want to move to the 3.52 M33 firmware so that I can run homebrew. I have a copy of Lumines on it's way which should be with me tomorrow. Can somebody tell me exactly what I need to do to change the firmware without bricking it or corrupting keys?

Sorry for being a noob, I'm just really worried I'll screw up and turn my PSP in to an expensive paperweight! Also will I be able to play region 2 UMD's with the M33 firmware? How about having the X button as select rather than O?

i have a psp with software version 3.50.. i got how to do the dowbgrading. but the thing is i dont have the lumines game.. wat do i do???can i role back my psp to the prev system version??

sorry if this is answered elsewhere (i tried searching.) Ive read a lot on the subject and all i want to know is to downgrade my PSP 2.81 do i follow the instructions posted for 3.03? Do i need to upgrade to 3.03 first?

This is a sticky, I think it miss out a lot of new stuffs, such as pandora's battery and pspslim. It would be nice to see more to it.

Guys just wanted to say a gigantic thank you. I just got a PSP and before doing any research upgraded it to 3.71. Yeah great update, bad for home brew. So a friend let me borrow his PSP which he hasn't used in around a year. It was running 2.6, after reading everything I could and not wanting to hunt down GTA I upgraded it to 2.71 using the fantastic thread for Sony's firmware then used the HEN C version to downgrade it to 1.5. Now on to make the Pandora's Battery so I can get mine downgraded. Thanks for all the tutorials here, I wish some people would learn to read first ask stupid questions later.

Pandora's battery is finished. had some problems with msinst not writing the ipl correctly, more than likely something I did wrong but I tried out the Pandora's GUI and that fixed me right up. Now my PSP is running 1.5, thanks again.

I am new to the PSP world but I wanted to downgrade my psp from 2.81 to 1.5. I was reading through the detailed guide posted by julie and i was confused about what to do if you have 2.81. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

then you will have to use either the 3.03 downgrader
or the 3.50 downgrader.
it depends on which game you can get/have
GTA:lsc or lummies.
once you get on of these games then upgrade to the 3.03 or 3.50 firmware
then follow the tutorial

Bought my PSP, upgraded it to 3.52 without looking at anything... found this site a little while later and kicked myself. Almost bought a new PSP... but traded my new one to a friend for their old one... 2.82. Upped to 3.03, popped in Lumines, and viola. Thanks for the awesome guide.

Hi.

I just got a psp with 2.71 firmware here, i have followed the guide for downgrading to 1.5 but i get this error "Your firmware is already 2.71. There is no need to upgrade." - i have followed the instructions as they are. Could someone please help me? Where do i put the devhook folder? What is the src folder? Why isnt this included in the guide?

I have not had any homebrew on it at all before i tried this one. If someone would be able to IM with me that would be great. Pm for IM info

Well I finally got GTA 2.00 so I will try and downgrade tonight and was just checking if anyone is out there that can help me out if I need it?

You should follow the instructions that downgrade using the Lumines UMD. I downgraded from 3.5 with this guide... although, I updated from 2.82 to 3.50 so that I could use my Lumines

Also... downloading a game is illegal. If you look around, you will see the ops repeatedly telling users not to download games, and they will not allow links to be posted here (because it's illegal, and could put them in line for a lawsuit).

Slims cannot be downgraded.

You need a pandora's battery.
