When i extract the MPHDowngrader to get the TIFF file, my anti-virus thing says that its a trojan (i got it from the first option), is it really a virus or is it just sony trying to stop people from downgrading???

this might sound like a noob question but wat does GTA (i think thats the game) have to do with downgrading?

Well, i guess you figured the answer to the tiff question (its not really a virus, just Sony asking for it to be registered as a virus since its a system exploit). Its safe so long as you get it from a trusted site.

GTA (Grand Theft Auto, you are right it's a game) had an exploit that allowed running unsigned code through the game save. It was used in a similiar way to the tiff exploit.

i downloaded the homebrew 2.71 and it came up as a windows media player file so what do i do to access it and the readme?

i think there is no way to downgrade 3.01 yet

I am having the same problem as Neiso on the front page... I did everything right I think, got the green screen, renamed the EBOOT to UPDATE and put in the UPDATE folder, but when I run the 'PSP Update ver X.YZ' from the game menu, all it does is restart my psp. Any Ideas? I gots 2.71

2. Connect the USB cable to your psp and to your computer
3. Activate the usb connection by scrolling to the left in the XMB and clicking Circle

Hello everyone. First of all to Julie have to say this is the best guide for downgraders I've seen so far so my thanks to you from all of us. Great job!! there should be more girls like you. Downgraded my 2.00 to 1.50 about a year ago so no problem there, and just now sent my psp for a replacement cause it does not read umds anymore and the wifi is damaged. Hoping to get a 2.71, just praying.

Have two friends with 2.60. Question: Does the easy downgrader for 2.60 use GTA also? If it does wouldn't it be better to go from 2.6 to 2.71 then down to 1.5 or whatever?

absolutely fantastic, a bit scary to do knowing I might end up with an expensive brick, but just d/graded from 2.01 to 1.5.
