My brother wants to downgrade and he has a 2.6. should he use the easy downgrader for 2.6 ( or do you need gta?) or upgrade to 2.71 and use the 2.71 Generic Downgrader?

i think for the 2.71 generic downgrader instuctions, there should be a link to a 2.71 firmware update...

but i guess im just lazy and dont want to have to look for the firmware updater...

oh, and i too would like to know how i should go about downgrading from 2.6. im in the exact situation as the post above and have the same exact questions.

would love the help very much.

i have a 2.71 ta- 802 and tried following all steps and cant get the blu to green screen. just blue to reset or freeze off. please help.ok i got it to a 2.5. now how to save games to mem stick and run um and emulators. i cant get um to work. - so now my nfs carbon doesnt work with my new 2.5. says needs to update to 2.71??? emulator help?

i have a v2.0... every time i try to get to my photos to get to the .tif, it freezes and reboots before i am able to bring it up, so i cannot get a screen with the white output- or for that much even get past that part of the downgrader, i've checked and made sure i have the right motherboard, and have followed the instructions... any help would be great... thanks.

Re-install everything. Your psp should freeze, but should not reboot. You should see some white text output on the black screen. Wait 30 seconds and then hard reboot (take the battery out or hold to power switch up for 10 seconds). I used the 2.0 downgrader back in the day and it wasn't that hard

Well, i just tried what you said, but there is still the same problem- i am not able to scroll through my pictures, it freezes before i get to them- and shuts off. I still can't get past that step : /

EDIT: I fixed it, i wasn't putting the bin and dat files in the right spot, i had them in the MP root folder, i guess i wasn't clear on that when i was reading the directions, thanks for the help!

Hi,
Very nice and thorough explanation but why write "downgrader guide 2.00-3.03" if downgrading is not possible from 2.82 above?
For a second there u made be belive I still have hope :-(
