yep its been installing for about 20 minutes, is this normal? At first i couldnt download it from the psn because it said my 8gig didnt have enough space (it had 3gig left and is official sony pro duo, magicgate confirmed) i live in australia and just figured that the sh1tty psn we have here didn't recognize my 8gig.

So I put my older 4gig in and it downloaded, and is now and has been installing for a very long time. I'm running 5.00 m33-6 would this cause a problem? Should I have changed my version.txt before attempting to download and install ff7?

OK WTF, I just had a closer look at my psp and after 20 minutes it says 1% this can't be working...

EDIT: Finally it's moving up about 1% a minute or so, has anyone else had this problem?

You can change it after it installs I think. Here in the US, Media GO checks the FW when your PSP connects, similar to ITUNES with IPOD/IPHONE. I changed my txt before just in case. It should install fine but playing will require the change first.

yeah I bought this and I'm running CFW 5.00m33-6 and for some odd reason it says I need firmware 5.50....
I'm not upgrading to OFW just to play Sony's FF7 with no disc changing heck i mainly use my PsP now for PSP games that I put on my memory stick.
Anyone to get around that firmware 5.50 crap?

version.txt, you're gonna have to decrypt the 5.50 eboot, then take teh file called version.txt, and put that on your psp's Flash0 replacing the old version.txt, then go to the recovery menu, then configuration, then select use version.txt

or, just open the flash0/vsh/misc/version.txt and change version to 5.50 and save. it only checks version in simple txt format. not in hex or anything. simple and no need for the 5.5 pbp.
