    'Sup.
I've figured I'll get an emulator and pokemon just for kicks.
The thing is, I've never played pokemon. Ever.
I was thinking starting from the beggining - the red version untill I noticed there is a Fire Red, a renewed red version!
I have no idea which of them to get.
Does Fire Red somehow differ from Red story and gameplay wise? Which one should I do first, in your opinion?

FireRed definetly. same story i believe, just updated graphics and a few new items and whatnot. more pokemon once you beat it as well i believe. Pokemon is awesome game that never gets old, i just beat black and went out and bought heart gold a few weeks ago. But i beat leaf green (same as fire red) on my android phone and its a great game. Playing Red is a much easier game but its graphics are so outdated and just ugly. But with less moves/special abilites/ and other new fancy stuff it makes for an easier game. Also you can start on any game, there not connected in any way.

I agree with Sullivan that you should get FireRed as I think its probably the best pokemon game since I think its the game with the most replay value. I have replayed it from the beginning multiple times and have still enjoyed each time the same as the last. Although I must admit it may be a little difficult playing it on an emulator. For me they constantly crashed and so I have lost my level progress.

Sounds troublesome, hope I won't have such problems.
I guess it's decided. I'll start with FireRed. What's the difference between it and LeafGreen?

the only different between fireRed and leafgreen will be some differentiation of what pokemon you can capture. Just like red and blue.
