Default Trouble Downgrading PSP

Everytime I run the downgrader it automatically exits because my PSP has a problem - the R trigger button is permanently pressed within the PSP. How can I fix it? Do I have to tke the PSP apart or hit the button really hard to mke it work again?

EDIT: Wow. I just hit it hard few times and it works now. Lol. Nevermind.

Wow, lol, to exit the PSP downgrader you click R, lol, that sucks. Open it up, its not hard at all. Should only take a minute or so with the proper tools. Then fiddle around with the R trigger. Also, what firmware do you have?

Just open up the psp remove the R trigger button, it comes out easy, then remove the metal clip that holds the rubber pad in place, remove the pad and wipe the contacts on the rubber pad and on the circuit where the both contacts meet.
This should work fine then, I had the same trouble. After time these pads do get dirty and get covered in black deposits.
