Firmware Installed: 3.80 m33-5

Default ive done a lot of research

so ive read a lot of threads and guids to doing all thing hacking and man is my brain crammed!!

so i was wondering with 1.5 if i use devhook (?) that i can run emulators and play games from a memory card, but can i play ps1 games??

also i read some of upgrading 1.5 to 3.25 m33 and i downloaded some eboot file (i believe and a video with babies flashing psp, dont ask) and what is the main benfit of upgrading to the 3.25 m33? and could i downgrade if i wanted? and do i need a pandora battery if i have 1.5 and upgrade?

lets say i do upgrade, would i just copy the emulator files like it says in the read me or is their more to it? and for the ps1 games how do i run thoes?? i have the image file (i believe its an image?)

Firmware 1.50 can run emulators and homebrew without the use of devhook. Devhook is a homebrew application which basically works as a firmware loader/emulator for the PSP. You need it if you want to play a game (e.g. Tekken: Dark Resurrection) which needs higher firmware to run. You get to use features in the firmware you're emulating. Unfortunately, the built-in PSX emulator will not work with devhook.

The main benefit of installing custom firmware is that you get to use features in new firmware but retain the capability of running homebrew. That includes PSX emu.

You don't need a Pandora battery. But it will come in handy if you accidentally brick your PSP or something.

There are several programs that will convert PSX disc images to PSP compatible format. Just do a google search for popstation.

It's 3.52 M33-4. At least that's the latest with full homebrew. I believe 3.02 OE-B onwards will let you play converted PSX games.

I agree, there is so much information out there that usually, verification is needed to check if you're assimilating it correctly.

M33-4 is just an update to M33 to fix some bugs. You need to have 3.52 M33 installed before you run the M33-4 update eboot.

yeah firmware tuts don't get stickied
because a new firmware will come out soon and then it would have to be un-stickied and the new one would need to be stickied
usually the firmware upgrade tutorial stay pretty high up in there
board anyway.

loads of noobs are all ways asking how to downgrade.
