Default Very N00B questions! After You get fw 1.5, whats the next step?

k I just got a psp for intents of modding, I havent modded it yet but I understand the pandoras battery and getting to 1.5, easy enough, but what are someone's next steps after that? Like do I need to upgrade back up to the current version but in a hacked form?
And what steps do I do to put a game on the msduo, there may be a tutorial (i bet there is) that cover these very specifically but I may have missed it,

sorry for n00bness and thanks for any help

i cant talk about putting "games" on your psp as it is illegal, but i would reccomend upgrading your firmware to 3.90 m33-2 with the 1.50 kernel as it appears to be quite stable. Check around the forums for advice on how to do this

Default Very N00B questions! After You get fw 1.5, whats the next step?

Well, I had my dad who's had lots of experience soldering and what not try the pandora mod, but I had a small board of chips not a big one like all the tut's show, but I still had the sc9x whatever chip and we got the right solder off, but i think he grounded something out cause a small wiff of smoke went up. BUT, i figured I'd still try it, it still works like a regular battery except of course you have to turn the psp on ac power first. and it still holds a charge so i dunno if it messed up?

Anyways, I used the executable that does the ms format for the magic memory stick and ran that, put the battery in with the card and all that happens is all three led's turn on, and stay on, not blinking, for a bout ten seconds then turn off, nothing happens. the psp still works fine though,

so my question is, what's my next step? would you say the battery is bad or something with Memory stick isn't right?

THANKS A GAGILLION FOR ANY HELP
