Default Does anyone know for sure if the Sony 8GB Pro Duo Mark II compatible with PSP?

Greetings:

I plan to purchase a Sony MSM-T8G 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo MARK2. Does anyone know if this stick is 100% compatible with PSP slim model (in order)?
If Sandisk and Sony 8GB is similar in price, which one will you pick?

Thanks for your time and help.

The mark II label just means it writes at a higher speed and is compatible with AVCHD recording equipment. It works with the PSP and so does a regular non-mark II 8GB Sony memory stick.

To answer your other question if I had to choose between Sandisk and Sony, I would choose Sony. And I did since I have an 8GB Sony pro duo.

Thank you all for your input.

If it were you will you pick Mark II ($90 free shipping) or Standar Pro Duo ($85 including shipping).

pn0yvstyle:

I've read so many posts about buying the memory stick from Ebay. The magic gate is fake and won't work if you want to play the iso/cso games on the stick. I almost bought a brand new one still under blister and branded Sony. However, after investigation from the seller it is a fake one and he has pulled it off before I place my bid. Here is a link that I found very useful. hxxp://tech84.wordpress.com/2008/03/06/watch-out-for-fake-sony-memory-stick-pro-duo-magicgate-cards/]How to spot FAKE Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo MagicGate Cards
If you still want to buy from E-bay make sure to send the seller the link above and confirm that the magic gate is 100% authentic.

I would go ahead and get the Mark II. It writes faster so waiting times for copying files on your PSP will be shorter. I didn't even know there was an 8GB Mark II, if I had I wouldn't have gotten the standard one. Hope it works out.

Does anyone know if this 8GB MARK2 stick will work with the original fat PSP? I was going to pick one up but no one seems to post compatibility for the old school PSP. Thanks for the help.
