Little help anyone...

Hey there.

Sorry guys, but I'm a complete noob when it comes to CF. Thing is, all the guides on the net don't make specific references to Slims and the only one I could find was for Official Firmware lower than that of mine.

I've got a slim on 3.93 Official Firmware and all I really want to know is, when following a guide like this:

geekindisguise.wordpress.com/2008/08/03/howto-install-custom-firmware-on-psp-slim-lite, which version of custom firmware do I have to include?

I'd appreciate any help,

using this guide it will show you how to install 3.80 cfw..

it explains everything in detail and is not hard for beginners to follow...

from this 3.80 cfw that you have installed you can upgrade to 4.01 easily in about 5 minutes.. (you could just create a MMS which is 4.01 ready but this way should be easier if u have are a beginner)

Thanks, that really helps, am doing it tomorrow with the help of a friend!

What that guide unfortunately doesn't make clear is the fate of the magic memory stick, post custom-firmware(ing).

I don't have a spare stick and will instead be using my only stick, a 2GB one.

Will I be able to reformat the stick after using it for its purpose as a magic memory stick?

Thanks alot guys, got 4.01-m33 2 up and running!!!

only slight hitch is the fact that since putting CFW on, O is now 'yay' and X is now 'nay'...did I put Japanese CFW on it or something; is there anyway I can change this?

Go to the recovery menu by doing a reset (hold down the power button until it turns off, then turn back on again) and holding down the R trigger while the psp is booting. Go to Configuration > and then choose the option for the default button.
