Yeah, the coldboot is kind of a pain. I made one for mine, but I couldn't run my popsloader with it installed. I utimatly just took it out.
EDIT:Fox, did they change this with 4.01M33?

You generally have to use a design program such as Gimp to make the coldboot. If I remember, the dimensions are around 65x180 (doubt that's exact, but around that area) then you make your coldboot per instructions and you have to make the color depth 2-32 bit or it won't work properly.

Save it as a PNG and put the text on a transparency..for your white box problem..your image was too big..

For sounds look for a guide on google relating to making SND0.AT3 files to get it into the ATRAC3 WAV format that is needed. The look on for coldboot sound replacer for 4.01 M33..its the latest one and supports lower firmwares also.

for version 3.71 - 4.01 use BSR v4, for 3.51/3.52 use CSR v4. You'll also need a sound editor like Audacity and Goldwave (along with the the ATRAC3 codec) to make your .wav file compatible. Took me a few days to find all this info, finally got my coldboot working!
