Animated Icons

is there a way to make the icons on a custom theme animate, i mean like either using a GIF as the Icon or even just something as simple as making the icon pulse when selected.

You can, I mean if you get the crisis core one they animate, not sure how though hehe.

the only way to do it is to add a pmf file to the eboot.. (which is like a short movie) you can also add an at3 file to the eboot (background music)

however the at3 and pmf file combined can not exceed 500kb..

use PBPunpacker to unpack an eboot and re create an eboot using these new files..
this site holds a few pmf files for psx games... i dunno if u wanna use one of those but it'll get you started.. so grab a pmf file off here and try to set up ur own icon with a movie.. and see how u go

cheema I could be wrong but I think he's referring to the actual XMB icons.

i thought he meant for games and emulators and things like that...

well that is how to do it for games and emulators hahaha...

i haven't tried to make any custom themes yet so i am not sure... but DarkFoxSniper would know. if any1 wants to send him a PM about it i am sure that he would fill you in

yer its the XMB icons im trying to animate, im only just starting to make themes, sounds like its gonna be complicated, ill leave it out for now

You may want to take a look for some paf.prx editing guides..you can things such as this..

I dont have a personal guide or anything but its a step in the direction you need.
