Default Is Slim or Fat better for Emulation?

I'm getting a PSP primarily for emulation of n64, psx, sega cd, snes, etc games.
Is there any difference between the Slim and Fat versions in terms of performance?

in terms of performace, no. maybe a split second faster for the little extra ram found on the slim.

The Slim's extra RAM isn't going to have any impact on how fast emulators run. It's nothing more than data storage. If there's enough memory for the emulator to work, it'll work. If there isn't, it will fail to work or crash trying. I don't think there are any platforms that can be emulated on the PSP and that require more than 32 MB, and none of the ones you mentioned approach that limit anyway, so you're safe with either model.

The short answer is exactly what Switchblades said. There's no real difference in performance between the two currently available models.
