Replacement Battery from DealExtreme?
I'm not interested in pandora-ing the battery or anything like that (already have one), but I'm interested to know how the $5.60 replacement battery (SKU #: 13319 dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13319) fares as far as battery life. I'm going on a long bus trip soon, and need as much backup battery power as I can get.
Basically, for anyone who's ordered one of these before:
1) How long does it last playing games? For example, if the normal Sony battery lasts 5 hours playing a game, how long would this one last? I see quotes of 3 hours in reviews, which would be great for a game, but not-so-great for only music listening.
2) Do these batteries shut down properly? Basically, on the official Sony batteries, you get a warning when they run out and your games are saved before it shuts down. I've heard that most fake batteries don't have that function. Is that true?
Alternatives I'm considering are shelling out the $39 for a real Sony battery off Amazon or buying a PSP Charger Grip (amazon.com/PSP-Charger-Grip-2000-Sony/dp/B0010SXY40) for $30, which touts 10 extra hours (again, no idea if this is music listening or game playing) but comes at the expense of being huge.
So, I guess my question is: Buy multiple cheap batteries that I can keep replacing (as long as I don't end up losing most of my games due to it shutting down... and obviously, at some point, having 10 backup batteries just gets kinda ridiculous so hopefully not too many are needed), buy one genuine battery, or buy the Charger grip?
Any thoughts/input appreciated! |
