PSP wont charge - dead battery?

Ok i got a psp 2001 starwars version (vadar) for christmas and the battery came seperate (its s generic made in china battery 3.6v 1200mAh psp-s360) cause we got it off ebay. So i plug the battery in and it works and i play some games and hook it up to my comp to load some stuff onto the memory stick (2 gig) via the official psp management software and the battery dies before i can load anything on it (the syncronize button is grayed out). I was thinking it charges via usb.... doesnt work (yes usb charge is enabled). ok so i try 2 different wall chargers (universal ones from radioshack, one with a psp specific tip) neither charge. so i go buy 30$ wall charger from walmart that charges the battery out of the psp. i plug it up get the orange charge lite for a few minutes and then it starts flashing (means either battery or charger is bad) im guessing its not the battery charger is right out the box. im not planning on modding this i just want it to work. so do you think its my battery? if i get ahold of a psp wall charger that plugs in will it work w/out a battery in it? idk what to do. please help

take out the battery and plug in the ac adapter open the psp
now put in the battery now dont close it for like a couple of minutes and then turn it off remove the adapter open the psp see if it works if not repeat but let it charge more this time

i dont own the ac adapter... i just used radioshacks while i was there... (i know the manager

im going to try and borrow a friends ac adapter tomorrow. i think if that works in psp getting power w/out the battery in then i know 100% its the battery thats crap. if thats the case where should I buy my battery from? I see all kinds of batteries w/ different mAh and whatnot. What is the best battery? I do NOT want pandoras battery. i really dont want to hack my psp at this point in time... right now i just wanna get it working! maybe later...

where should i buy my battery? which battery spedifically... i dont want to buy another generic one and it suck either....

get 2 batterys or one if ur not afriad of breaking one

buy one pandora battery
and one psp slim battery cus they have longer life i think

ok so i got the gamestop charger with the littlw usb in and plug into the AC thing on the psp. my psp still wont charge and I cant run the psp off the ac adapter... the guy who sold me the batery is sending a new for free so maybe that will work.

im going to be pissed if that the case. but it really doesnt make sense. all i did was play it till the battery died and then the battery wouldnt recharge... how would that brick my psp?

middle of an upgrade ? look take out everything from the psp (headphones memory sticks everything that is plugd in battery everything) and then put in the ac then in the psp open the psp if it doesnt open then its brickd

ok here is the situation. i figured out after much trouble shooting (using a friends psp, battery and chargers and whatnot) that the ac adapter in on the psp is broken. it wont charge. so ive explained this to the guy i bought it from on ebay and he ok send it back w/ all the stuff i sent with it. ok cool, i start looking and the box and paperworks along with the warrranty info is gone, idk how but regardless its gone. what can i do? do you think that the waaranty info is downloadable or something? or is the psp fixable? anyy thoughts ideas?

also i can charge via usb that works fine, i just cant charge using the dc in - (ive tested the charger it works on a friends)

is it possible for me to fix that dc in somehow on the psp and wont have to worry about shipping it back and stuff?

never? i got a 600 acoustic for 350 w/ a case lol but electronics i think you may be right. that advice aside i need some input.

how much would it cost (or should i pay) to get the dc in fixed on my psp? should i send it in and have a pro fix it or try it myself?

also ive read about mods that allow to play and charge via usb. do i have to mod my psp like a pandoras battery and the whole nine yards or is there an easy way to get that one thing? idk im a noob so sorry and i appreciate the help

ok so ive decided i want to just get my psp repaired. How should I go about doing this? Through Sony? through another company? any recommendations on who to use and whats a fair price? All i need to get fixed is the dc in.
