Of course it is; how could it not be safe?
Edit: There is no current custom firmware that will allow you online.

if all else fails you could do what most others are doing and upgrade to the latest firmware and then when you are done playing reflash back to whatever firmware you were on.

No PSN store, or PSN online play....only way is to update to OFW then downgrade back to CFW when done, like dashneo said.

for now the PSN can be accessed with CFW psp's when able to
(like in the instance of 5.50GenB2)
in the compatible firmware window
(when PSN requires a FW that we have a CFW to match)
without banning.
(Boom, get it now?) |

(Boom, get it now?) | lol, wtf are you talking about....why does it matter if you COULD access PSN with GEN.....Now, you can NOT access the PSN store on GEN-B....you can NOT play online games that use PSN online....try and see what happens...
you won't get banned obviously, since PSN doesn't ban...

Also, where did you hear that GEN-C has an online fix...I'm pretty sure its just the 5.55 and 6.00 game fix....

Edit: There is no current custom firmware that will allow you online. | Well there could be an angry homicidal dyslexic midget out there releasing firmwares that send kernel info to his Hotmail account every time you log onto PSN. That sounds pretty dangerous to me. Of course if he's dyslexic you stand a pretty good chance of him not being able to find your street address.... but then again, what if there were two midgets in this scenario. Not really a risk worth taking if you ask me. |

I think it's pretty obvious isn't it? Don't go online with a modded PSP or you run a slight risk of your entire family being brutally murdered by an angry sadistic midget posse. Follow along man. |
