i have a battery that was set to autoboot
the battery is a 1k bat
when i try and charge it on the 1k psp the orange light comes on for about 2 mins then turns off
the battery will charge on a 3k
what the hell is going on?

Take the batt. out, plug the AC in, turn on your PSP, assuming it's hacked, install "Ultimate VSH Menu" (Google'll find it), insert battery WHILE the PSP is still on:- ignore the charging indicator, press select, scroll to "Pandora" and change that to "Normal".

Turn PSP off and then use the battery as normal, should've softmodded it back.

thats the thing
the psp is semibricked
asin the power switch is actualy broke
il be swapping it for the new part later if it ever gets to my house T_T
additional to that the software is bricked i have a magic memory card (homemade)
that i know works
but i changed the battery to autoboot so i could turn on the psp with the switch breoken
but the bat fell out while updating (DAM)
bricked the psp
odd thing is that before it would boot the psp and the green light would just stay on
but now it doesnt even do that
any ideas?
