Just bought a psp from gamestop.

I just got a PSP 2001 from gamestop and really want to play backup iso and emulators.

I have a regular 3.6v 1200mAh battery and 128MB memory card. Came with System Software Version 6.35.

Can I hack/mod it with what i have? If so, what is the first thing i must do?

you can hack it yes. but if you try to put games in your ms, i bet you can't pretty much put a decent one in it.

According to this video, all i have to do it update my psp to official firmware 6.60 and then just follow his instructions to get 6.60 PROB10. And no pandora battery required.

Is it really that simple. Will my psp be safe?

yea and if you get a program called pspident it will tell you if you can have a full cfw as the cfw you posted is a lcfw ment for unhackable psp's wich yours very well could be

Yeah I prefer a CFW over LCFW. So what is the best/latest CFW? (one that doesn't require a pandora battery)
I'm at 6.38, do i need to downgrade or upgrade to get best cfw. And what is a good noob guide i can follow.
