I can't seem to get SD Gundam G Generation World ISO to start with out a 80020148 Error. This is the 2nd time I have seen this Error with this game. First time was with my PSP 1000 was 5.00 M33-6 last year and gave up. I thought maybe the game was corrupted, and re-download it from more then a few sources, but nothing changed. The uploader and other people comments has stated that this ISO can be played on 5.00 M33-6 (with a Patched / Fixed along with the game). I then gave it another try this week after the PSP 1000 was upgraded 5.50 Gen-D3 few months ago by a friend, No changes either. I then try to fix the issue using:

    Recovery Menu
Configuration -> UMD Mode: (Sony NP9660 -No UMD-) [also tried] (M33 driver -No UMD-)
Advanced -> Advanced Configuration -> Plain Modules in UMD/ISO ( Disabled) and Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO ( Disabled)

    also tried fixing it with:

ISO Tool v1.91 by EBoot decrypt SD Gundam G Genteration, but that just lead me to a black screen after the PSP loading Logo.

Neither of those method worked and since I'm not that familiar with PSP software and configurations, I don't want to end up turning my psp into a brick trying random things base on you tube videos.

Does anyone have any other idea what to do beside upgrading to 6.00+? If so it would be nice.

I know what would solve this problem right away!

Go buy your games you dirty pirate. Importing games - not that difficult. Avoid eBay for imports. Go for places like Play-Asia, YesAsia and AmiAmi.

Your right I should have, Like all my other UMD games. Frist and only game that I have ever tried a game downloaded from somewhere, Maybe that's why the game is erroring in the first place. I'll go get the official game then, that or wait for the SD Gundam G Generation OverWorld in September 2012. Thanks anyways.

Update you firmware and it should work. Next time dont mention downloading because typically, its frowned upon. PSP games are for the most part, pretty cheap nowadays so purchasing one shouldnt be a problem.

My PSP scores lately, all complete with case and manuals:

    Gran Turismo - $5
    Crisis Core - $7
    Resistance: Retribution : $3
    Daxter - $2

I don't even have a PSP anymore but plan to get another one once they get around $25-30. I just picked these up because these are titles worth having at those prices and now more than ever, PSP games are super-affordable in the US.

I didn't mean to be such a bellend in my original post but do understand that I feel very strongly that piracy "has ruined" the PSP and ushered in a coming age of digital-only media with no physical retail copy as an option. Game developers just dropped it like a hot rock once it became obvious that it was hacked and there was nothing Sony could do. The ta-088v3 "unhackable" motherboard came too late to save the PSP and eventually that was "hacked" anyway so it really made no difference. There are a LOT of people that come to this website looking only to install CFW so they can never have to buy a game.

I do understand though that playing imports is a grey area. Even PSP games can be prohibitively expensive in Japan, some upwards of $110 USD. Your best hope is to wait a few months and hope that they overproduce copies (like FFXIII and Zelda: Spirit Tracks, about $10-13 titles only a week after release). PSPs are region-free too, making this even easier.

Slow how can this be? Also I still have my launch fat + God Of War slim.
