    hi i have a slim psp 2000 with 5.50 prometheus-4 that i haven't touched for almost a year, today a friend recommended a game for me so i went to my old psp and i want to know should i upgrade to a newer cfw and which one do u recommend that is permanent and don't disappear after reset ?

    5.50 GEN D3 (Prometheus) is going to need a GEN bypass method to update. Follow this guide:http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-fir...made-easy.html and scroll down to Section 6 and look for GEN BYPASS for instructions on how to update your GEN firmware. Once you update to 6.60, use this:6.60ME-1.8 (OFW Version) - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP / PS Vita Forums

    thanks for ur help but the links u provided doesn't work, the first one just takes me to the forum home and the second one(download link) the download never starts.

    the link works 6.60ME-1.8 (OFW Version) - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP / PS Vita Forums i just tested it so it has to be your slow internets click it click the blue download link should pop right up and then hit save

    now as for the gen bypass i like to use the recovery menu so bring up you vhs menu and goto recovery you will see configuration click it now scroll down till you see version text now click it make sure it says disabled and you now should be able to run the updates

    thank u all for ur great help but i only have one final question which do u recommend (6.60 pro-c or 6.60 me 1.8 cfw) some people say that me is not as stable as pro-c is this true ? and thanks again
