I just got a PSP-3001 (total noob here) and read the "Ultimate PSP Guide" here on this forum before registering. I registered to ask, however, because there is apparently an updated version of the custom firmware.

From what I can see by checking my System Settings in my PSP, it says that I am currently on 6.60 OFW with my PSP.

According to the guide, I should NOT be using the permanent CFW version (6.60ME) and should use the LME counterpart. (unless I downgrade to 6.20 OFW first)

So here is my question: Should I use the 6.60LME-1.8 version or the 6.60LME-1.6 version as it states in the guide? What are the differences? Are the steps in installing the CFW the same?(extract the LME folder, then copy both files to GAME folder and run installer first then launcher)

Please help me out! and one last question: Once I download an ISO file(a game) from here, how do I install or run it on my PSP?

Also, there's a folder named "UPDATE" within "GAME" folder and it has a file named "EBOOT.PBP" within the UPDATE folder. Should I leave this UPDATE folder alone, or do I need to delete this folder before running the Installer and Launcher??

    PLEASE help me out!!!

If you're on 6.60 OFW, download 6.60LME 1.8, the difference from 1.6 is that it's updated, it tells you whats updated when you download and open the read me.

Extract LME and put the update and installer folders in the GAME folder on psp. Run installer, then run launcher.

When in launcher, never log onto psn directly from XMB( the interface) You can turn launcher off if you wanna log on, use the instructions in the download.

To play ISO games, make a folder on the Root of the memory stick called ISO and then put your ISO files in it.

I believe you are able to play games online, like multiplayer games, but you might wanna double check.

Not to many games that still have online support. Resistance Retribution is still supported and has many people still playing it
