From what I can make out all the files are located on the MS. The critical part of the process is creating a BOOT sector on the MS. Then after the battery is put into "service mode" it automatically looks for and BOOTS from the MS. Because the 1.5 eboot is in the root, and other required files are in the right filder structure is automatically flashes...

Awesome stuff.

Nice write up Duke

So can u still use the battery after converting it to jig or is it only jig now? Like can i still use it for everyday gaming or do i need a whole new battery to play normally?

I have an image of the MS including the BOOT sector in a self extracting file if anyone is interested.

Connect the PSP via USB, double click the file and point it to the drive letter of the MS. Saves all the hassles. Then run the battery changer

Dukepoth, you're saying that you need a homebrew PSP, so i've been hearing it can downgrade 3.52 official fw, how so?

i think i know the answer. with the card and jigkick battery the psp will boot up using the files inside the memory card instead of the one in the psp. allowing you to downgrade any fw.

ok, i'm stuck at work, so i don't have too much time to research, but i had a quick question: my friend bricked his psp a couple of months ago trying to upgrade his firmware to 3.40oe. he got a new psp, but will this help unbrick his first psp? and if we go through this process on a working psp, we can use the battery and newly "tweaked" memory card in the bricked psp, correct? thanks.

exciting stuff.....
