I am charging up my batteries in preparation for attempting this method. I will be popping my PSP modding cherry on this one. I will report back as I go through this. Thanks to Dark for the useful info and the people who worked on everything that goes into this. |

GUIDE TO::Making Pandora's Battery (*new method*)
Greetings to all
Im fed up! I have tried almost all currently available magic memory stick installers on the web. Including the 'TotalNewbie Easy Installer' and the manual method mentioned by extracting files directly from DA Universal Unbricker to the root of my Pro Duo 1GB memory stick.
Whats going on here? Im working on a standard Phat Jap Import PSP (battery is exactly the same as Eup, USA). The battery will automatically light up the Green Power LED but it will not go into service mode, (where MS LED and WIFI LED lights up). Let me make sure?- this will unbrick all PSPs right, no matter what firmware was previously on it (3.71M33 but then attempted downgrade)?
Someone must know, please PM all me the files on the memory stick if at all possible. Im desperate!..so much strain and stress.
Thanks |

It an Imropper Magic Stick...I think, but I still got problems
During the Command Prompt Stage I follow it perfectly, but it doens't seem to repsond when it says:
Target Drive is X
Check Partition Sector
Blah.....
Blah.....
Write ABS sector....
Are you sure ? [Y]
Here I input y but it doens't repsond, so I press enter and then it says 'cancelled'. I believe this is why the Memory Stick isn't being read. Does anyone happen to know what come next, and how do I know if the emeory stick is successful?
Thanks |

Man, opening this battery is a huge pain in the ass. Anyone have any advice on doing it without gouging my hands? |

Yeah. Use a high power laser "dr. Evil" style. And I hear it's best to start from the side or from the top because the circuit board is at the bottom.
Personally, I think it's alot easyer just to find someone with cfw and softmod the damn battery instead of sticking sharp objects into it's casing... But that's just me. |

just find a small screw driver, insert it and then slightly twist it, do it all the way around the battery and it will open.. |

After some work I got the casing open, cut the lead, and successfully modded my PSP. It took a little bit of messing around to get the easyinstaller to start up and work right but once it did it was cake. I will write a thread describing how I managed to get mine working. Thanks for all the help guys. |

It installs 3.71m33-2 and it uses Despertar del Cementerio V2. That's the easyest way to create a magic memory stick for a Phat. If you plan on using it on a Slim, there will be no display whatsoever and you will have to do a blind install. |

in the real simple installer, it says you get 3.71 m33-2 after doing this,
but can i get 3.52 m33-4 right after doing this instead? | |
