This Is my First time Modding a PSP , I have opened one of my batteries and realised Its not the same as any In the Tutorials, so I opened my 2nd Battery and found the same, Ive read and found that other people have this problem, so I thought Id take Pictures and show that,

There are no labels that say S93C56.

If there Is still a way to do the Battery mod with this kind of Battery, please, I would like to know.

Default GUIDE TO::Making Pandora's Battery (*new method*)

@Spen: I actually did mean softmodding as in the pandora program that you run on the PSP so that the battery goes into service mode. the method I'm talking about does not include taking the battery apart at all.

How this relates to the thread is that I was asking if the un-Pandora-able batteries that I came across may be able to be Pandora-ized with this method. I'll restate my question: Has anyone come across a battery (chinese made versus japanese made or spin-offs) that hasn't been able to be hard-modded? I was wondering because if it would be easier to make it for a friend by hard-modding it rather than trying to find a compatible battery, I'll just do that again.

@Snyper: Do you have a pic of the front of the battery casing? I wonder if this is the same type of battery I've got right now which is a relatively poorly-made chinese knock-off--no offense to china. If you totally destroyed the front or can't take a picture of it for some other reason, can you at least describe it? If you don't see any labels on any of the chips, you might not have it in the right light. I've found it extremely hard to read the letters/numbers in anything except for direct white-light, but that may be just me. Looking at my open battery (in signature) the camera seems to bring out the labels so I dunno. Also, is that battery for a PSP Slim? that may explain some of it as to the layout and circuit board color.

Everytime you download a big file from rapidshare, you have to wait (usually 60-90min) before next download I think that is the reason

Default GUIDE TO::Making Pandora's Battery (*new method*)

Hello guys

I tried again with my ruined(or i thought it was) battery. Look at the screenshot please and you will see those meaningless names of the files and folders.

How did it happen?
I formatted and copied all the files to my ms. Turned my psp on the lights flash but it didnt ask me to press [] button, and i turned it off and on again. This time i pressed and held the [] button. The result is this. You think i am doing the format staff wrong?

Hello,

what is the actual message received after moving the partitions with msinst? I am receiving "write MS BOOT CODE" does that mean it was successful?

Thanks

I had the same partition errors, but after a lot of random formatting and crap I got the, "Write MS Boot code" or whatever it was; which means I did it right, correct?

Anyways, onto the battery portion. This is compatible with the slim PSP's, correct? Mine says: 3.6V 1200mAH.

Edit: Bah, have to buy a new battery. Newb mistake, exacto knife knicked the surface of the actual battery while opening it and =x smoke started coming out. I'd take it I shorted out the battery or killed it.

I hope this question was not addressed already, I searched but did not find anthing specific to my question. I want to perform this task, however, I have 3.72 OFW. Will this work, or do I have to do something else to this Slim in order to change to a CFW to play backed up iso's and homebrew?

CatastropheInc, when I was modding my battery smoke started coming out but it still works as a JigKick However it doesn't work normally. Find out how many Volts it has (mine has 3.9-4.0V). To use it as a Pandora's Battery you'll need the PSP charger. Plug it in and run PSP like you always do. When wifi and memory leds come on then it works When leds come off and still nothin you have to do MMS again.

jdscada, I had 3.72 OFW People said that this method works on slim too

Careful CatastropheInc! if you follow what Traviz says, it could have results comparable to your name. to me it sounds like Traviz got lucky and if I were you, I'd get a new battery and be careful not to nick the battery's innards while peeling off the outer shell. This is just a safety measure, nothing more.
