Default How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP

So does this downgrade to 1.5 as well as install CF?

Or does it only downgrade to 1.5?

Default How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP

Will this downgrade version 3.72? If not is there anyway at all to downgrade it?

I have tried and tried... I have followed the directions as best I can so something is wrong. Is there anything left out of the directions that may be assumed common knowledge (knowledge I don't have)?

I'm using the Datel Tool Battery, so could that be an issue?

When I replace the regular battery with the TOOL battery the green light is the only thing that stays on. I have searched the net for a week trying to downgrade my psp and this is the most comprehensive guide I have found so far. Thank you so much for your help so far.

For some reason I just can't get the Magic Memory Stick to work. I really hope my current firmware isn't the problem. Any Ideas would be SO appreciated! Thanks

So after you copy the kd and registry directories, you just put in the pandoras battery and magic stick and it should work right? My question to the ppl who have tried this tutorial is other guides i've seen say that you need to press some of the buttons on the psp like X and stuff (even though you cant see whats on the screen due to lack of kernel support).. Is that right? Or after you put in the pandoras battery and magic stick it does it all by itself? And after all the lights have finished flashing you just put in the normal battery and take out the memory stick and the firmware should be downgraded?

Default How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP

I've asked this over at Maxconsole Forums with no replies...

pictures on my post here: http ://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=81424

i was Going by this Tut and i would have figured that ^ qualified as a pandora battery.. but when i put it in to check for a green light its orange and continues to charge. The battery power is at 0 now though and it was 25% when i started poking at it.

I just bought this psp last night and im new to the whole scene obviously but i plan to stick around and be apart of the gang.
Any Help would be appreciated..

**Edit** ok i charged it over night.. when it gets to 75% the orange light turns to green and the battery shows 0% again. putting the battery into the unplugged psp does nothing.
...i sure hope i didnt ruin my new battery

To answer a lot of questions, YES this guide works. However, it needs a little clarification. The last step asks you to get the fat files from the internet (with a handy link from Mexi_chino.. ty btw Mexi ) The files you want are under the "Despertar v3" folder. Copy everything in that folder to the root of your memstick. This guide seems to have some redundant steps but if your goal is to install 3.71 m33 on a slim they won't hurt anything. Overall a good guide. Also I have a wierd question.
I already added a cfw to my psp slim (version 2001pb) via a Datel tool battery and a magic memory stick (from this guide). When I first loaded it to service mode with the battery it showed EVERYTHING on the screen with no problem. All there! Every step displayed without a hitch. Now here is my question... why did it show for me with no problems while every guide I've seen says I shouldn't see it on a slim?

Yes, I can also confirm that I was able to see whats happening on my psp SLIM during the upgrade process. And yes, jondagamkd is correct. After you've completed all the steps in the guide apart from copying the kd and registry file. Just download that kd and registry file from the link, extract it, then copy everything in the 'Despertar v3' folder to the root of the memory stick. You'll overwrite the 'PSP' folder that is already in there. Then when you pop in your pandora battery and the magic ms into the psp. The power LED will be on solid green with the memory access orange led flashing a bit. Depending on if you are able to see the screen or not( I was able to in my case on my psp SLIM). You'll need to press X to start the flashing process. Wait a good 15 mins, and it should be all finished, and the orange LED shouldn't be flashing anymore. Once you reboot your PSP, the CFW installed should be M33 3.71-2, not 3.60

Default How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP

Well I've only discovered the wonerfull world of homebrew in the last few days - this guide was just what I needed to get started!

I've got a "spare" 1gb stick (genuine sony) I'm using, a DATEL Tool Battery and my shiny new slim - with 3.73...

I followed the steps exactly as described, and never got the activity light from the MS slot.

Has anybody been able to do this with a 3.73 system?
