91 - How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP
Oh, and yes you can use the battery that came with the PSP. Just make sure you have a regular battery to use for normal use.
By the way, you can in fact use a pandora battery as a regular battery, it's just not convenient. You have to power up with no battery, but plugged in the wall. Then put your pandora battery in and remove the AC adapter. Besides being inconvenient, you'll also be using the juice that you might need someday to unbrick yours or someone else's PSP. |

i get the black screen(all black btw) and green light. i wait a while and hit X... still no MS light flashing. when i put in the regular battery and look under the games folder the desperetar "game" pops up, so i guess the files are the right place. could it be that my 3.80 OFW is the issue? |

Tiny problem... It'd been bugging me for a while. You used a fat battery instead of modding a slim battery? o.o

Maybe it's a regional thing, but my phat battery came with 2 battery covers (one silver, one black) that bulge out a little to make up for the extra girth. It's kinda nice because it's almost like a grip. |

99 - How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP
this post has been all over but i cant find a real good answer to it. i modded the battery and then formatted the memory stick and everything using the GUI...
im running a 3.71 ofw(slim) and after i modded the battery, all thats happened is the green power light, and nothing else. well, i did the memory card word for word, and with no luck.
Only read the following if you really think you can help...
I did nothing to my memory card... I put it in my card reader, and ran the GUI. I downloaded 1.5, 3.40, 3.50, and pandora files from this site. on the first tab, i loaded the 1.5 firmware from my drive, formated, hit copied files (in step 2) and it did something... and then i did write IPL, and it did something else, but there werent any errors... i went to the second tab, and loaded the 3.40 and 3.50 and hit copy files and everything went through again. now, on my memory card(pro duo 2 gb) i have UPDATE.PBP and a PSP folder which contains another folder (GAME) and inside of that is a bunch of pandora folders.
I then downloaded the extra files posted near the bottom of the guide. in that folder are three more folders (Read 1st, Original Pandora, and Despertar v3) and this is where I'm getting confused. I'm not sure which files to move over, and if anyone has these answers, please be specific. heres what ive tried...
Ive tried moving the entire despertarv3 folder (replacing the PSP folder and not) (neither worked)
Ive tried moving msipl.bin, registry, and kd folders over... nothing
Ive tried msipl.bin, registry, kd, (msinst, mspformat from the read 1st folder)... nothing
I have since read that it wont work for 3.71... and I've read it does work for 3.71... I've read that I need a special kind of battery, and I've read that I need just a normal battery... and I've also read that I dont need another battery other than the one I've modded... either way... I just need some straightforward answers because at this point, I've invested nearly 300+ dollars on memory cards, readers, the psp itself, and tools to mod the battery. somebody please help. |

100 - How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP
I have to say that this guide is not working for me. Period. I simply end up with no screen, and a Green power light, staying on.
I did as the guide said, all the way through, and in the end, copied the Despertar contents onto the root at the end, and Nada. Pop in the pandora, and all I get is the Green power light, which comes on automatically. I don't know how to boot in service mode, if that's a problem.
Can someone help me? or possibly walk me through the process? I have "Jwguy0" as my AIM, if it were possible. I'm not trying to be a jerk and say this guide doesn't work, but I'm not getting much out of it, and assistance would be appreciated.
EDIT/UPDATE/READYOUFOOLS&NOOBS:
((That was a joke.))
I fixed it.
I figured out guys, and while it pains me to say it, the problem is rather elementary... but worry not, the blame does not rest on us noobs alone.
Sadly, the guide here instructs you to do everything as said, or implies such, but this is not the correct procedure, and here is why:
It does not mention the Despertar folder, or where it lies in the grand set of "Steps" towards a successful conversion/unbricking/whatever.
Here are the steps I used, which solved the problem:
1. Format the Memory stick
2. Move the Despertar files (All in the folders, no overwriting will be necessary since the MM is blank.)
3. Open the Pandora GUI and only do the "Write IPL" Step, complete with the Removal of the MMS and Turning off the PSP
4. Put your MMS in the PSP and Pop in the Pandora battery, like the one shown (Yes, it was correct.)
The guide isn't completely wrong, but it has a few flaws when trying to introduce a newer person to the process, as I am one.
The problem was that when you overwrote the PSP folder with the Despertar PSP folder, it seemed to overwrite the IPL you wrote with the Pandora GUI. Perhaps editing the original guide with this information might prove helpful, and stop so many questions from being asked.
I hope it helps ^^

This Is my First time Modding a PSP , I have opened one of my batteries and realised Its not the same as any In the Tutorials, so I opened my 2nd Battery and found the same, Ive read and found that other people have this problem, so I thought Id take Pictures and show that ,
There are no labels that say S93C56.
If there Is still a way to do the Battery mod with this kind of Battery, please, I would like to know. |

103 - How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP
Hi everyone,
I have been trying to figure out this stuff for a while now and I just want to know if it is even possible for me to put custom firmware on my psp. I have a slim psp with official firmware 3.73 and a 1 gig memory stick. I am going to go buy a Sony PSP Battery Pack (3.6v - 2200mAh). Is it even possible for me to do this with these things? |

Have you ever mod this kind of battery ? It looks so similar to that from 1st post but it has different numbers. It's original Sony 3.6V 1800mAh FAT battery.
