Default How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP

Ugh, I wound up accidentally cutting the two thin silver connections on my original Slim battery while trying to cut it open. Now I have to spend $40 on a new battery. Dammit.

Default How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP

Ok, so after a bit of reading I thought I would take a crack at hard-modding a battery and making it a pandora battery. So I went out and bought a PSP battery I saw two of them there and picked the one that was $10 cheaper. So I got home and started to do a bit more reading and found out that the Intec 2200mAh could not be hard-modded. So this morning I brought it back and got the $10 more battery. It was the PSP-280 (Sony 2200mAh) and in the compatibility threads I have read said it worked. And since I already have boughten one of these batteries in the past (thats the current battery Im using for my PSP) I thought I would use the old one for making into a Pandora battery and keep the new one for normal use. So I opened it up, put the soldering iron the the 5 pin, pulled it up with an exacto knife and then broke off the pin, since I wasnt planning on ever using it as a normal battery again. So I put the covers back on the battery and try it out. And sadly I get no power to the PSP from it. So I thought I would go do a whole bunch more reading. And as I found out, the PSP-280 (Sony 2200mAh) batteries that say "Made in Japan" DO NOT WORK!! And the ones that say "Made in China" DO WORK! And the one I tryed to hard-mod was the made in japan version and the new one that I bought was the made in china version. So it looks like tomorrow I will go out and buy another PSP-280 (Sony 2200mAh) battery for normal use and use the one I got yesterday as a Pandora battery.

I guess the lesson here is do alot of research before diving into something. I will write tomorrow and let you's know how it went.

meptex, my battery didn't work as a Pandora's Battery until I pluged in the charger But my is PSP-110 fat batt.
You can try to insert the battery, plug in the charger and run the PSP manually (like you always do) If wifi and memory leds come on, then it works If leds come off and still nothing then it means that you have to do MMS again.

No, none of the lights were ocming on no matter what I tryed. Ok, so I went and bought another one of the PSP-280 (Sony 2200mAh) batteries to use for normal use. So I put it on charge and I went to modding the other one jsut like it. Now I checked both of them and they were both "Made In China" so I was satisfied. So i did exactly as I did the first time to the first battery and then I put some super glue on the side and waited for the first battery to charge. So the battery finished charging and I stuck it in and you know what? That ligth came on!! I was very happy!! So then i went to making the Magic Memory Stick. I have a Phat PSP and my friend came over with his Slim and he wanted to do his as well. So I read through a few different tutorials on how to do make the mem-stick and I successfully did it. So i now had both the Magic Mem Stick and the Pandora Battery. So I stuck the mem stick in and then the battery and right away on the screen came up the Pandora screen!! So I went through that process and then read through a whole bunch of threads and figured out the exact process to update it to 3.90 M33 CFW. And I was able to do that very easy as well Then I made my friend a Magic Mem Stick for his Slim and Padorized it and then did all the updating to his. And now both of our PSP's are at 3.90 M33 CFW!! Thankyou to everyone on the forums who has written instructions for everything. It helped me alot! And if anyone wants to know anything just ask.

This works with any PSP with firmware.
This is a hardware mod, which means it works on a hardware level.
No software is going to stop it.

Default How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP

Hi and thanks for the guide that has so much detail. Before I saw this guide I was using that battery and I am so used to seeing the motherboard on the other side like the PSP-100 battery on other guides so I thought the board was under the aluminum(I think that is what it is, the silver casing around the inside of the battery) and I started to remove it. I got about half of it off and realized something was wrong. I found this forum and saw where I was supposed to solder so I did. I put the battery inside the plastic shell and glued it up and tried the battery with the magic memory stick. When I inserted the battery NOTHING at all happened. Was it the silver casing that ruined the battery and if so do I just use aluminum foil and wrap it around the PSP like it was before, like an idiot, I took it off? Thank you again and thanks for your response!

Yes, you [u]MUST[u] put the battery back in the case and then tape it back together, do not use super glue, because it is very easy for some to get on the mother board and you also, if you haven't, make a Magic Memory Card. If nothing happens still then you might of done something wrong with the battery.

Default How to create a Pandora's Battery and Slim MS without a Fat PSP

well nvm what i said before

i run a 3.72 ofm
i made the pandora by removing the the last pin to the right and it lid up the green light when i place the battery on my slim and phat
then i remove my orginal battery slim and plugged in the u power adapter
running no batteries

after slim lite tab step 2 i copied the files kd and registry only
then put it the very beginning of the root of the ms
then un-unplugged and slap on the ms stick and pandora's battery then turned it up, the screen was black and only the green light turned on and waited a few seconds and it turned off by it self. took off the p battery and slapped on the orginal slim and reboot and my firmware is still 3.72

note: i followed only the guide you listed
i did not run any aaplications on my game memory stick section

i would appreciate someone if they help me
