is it a sony or just a diff. brand one.
cuz on the sony batt, its either where it says it should be on the guide, or on the top, towards the right.

I have the exact same battery w/ the small double sided circuit board on the end. the battery case says it's a model PSP-110. Please if NE1 can help with the correct pin to lift on this type of battery, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same battery.
I can't seam to get a strait answer any where on this type of battery.
It sucks to have to go out and buy a new battery just to break it open.
while I already carefully opened the one I have.
If anyone can ponder a solution please reply
Thanx,

I went out and bought a intec battery from gamestop.
It was easy to open. Has anyone use that kind of battery and point me to which pin to break.
Also, do you charge the battery first than remove the pin?

i tried opening the battery and then it suddenly felt hot and it smelt burnt... even thought the battery hasnt open. (i was justing running the knives around the edges) so i left it alone over night and next thing i notice the back of the battery pops up.... so i was wondering is it safe for my fat psp if i tried that battery? |

get an exacto and just kinda cut it. if you can slip the knife under the pin, then its cut. but don't get your face exploded

The weird batteries with the circuits on the end should still have a chip labeled S93C56. I believe it is one of the few still there, lucky enough. when you see the words right-side up then cut/lift/incinerate the lowest pin/leg on the right side of that chip. That's the only difference.
--I was just kidding with the incinerate comment, don't take fire or any hot object (other than a soldering iron with EXTREME caution) near the battery, whether open or sealed shut.
As for if the battery starts getting hot, THROW IT AWAY! chances are that the Lithium Ion battery is compromised. Do not use it if you don't want your PSP (and your face) blown to smithereens. For future reference, go by my favorite phrase: if in doubt, throw it out. |

so can you unsauter (cant spell that dumb word) the leg without unsautering the other piece or will it short circuit the battery no matter what? and can i unsauter the leg, pandora, then resauter the leg to have my regular old battery back? im using a fat psp if that helps, but i dont think it does. |

This procedure is extremely dangerous to begin with when soldering due to the Lithium Ion Battery. It can explode in your face or excrete noxious gases that are VERY harmful. If you do choose to try to re-solder (that's how you spell it) it then be EXTREMELY cautious! I never even touched a soldering gun for this project even though I fully trust in my abilities with it. That being said, I obviously didn't unsolder the big glob of metal and my battery life was shortened severely (about 2-3 minutes charge). I guess it would make sense to use Booster's Multiple IPL loader for if you want your old battery back, however I can't vouch for if it will work with the hard-mod of the battery as opposed to the regular soft-mod.
The point of this post is to remember to do this at your own risk. |

Can it still be used as a normal battery?

yes it can, if you desolder the pin you can solder it back on, but if you use a needle i dont think it can.
