can you convert back the magic memory stick to normal again?
i mean if you format it via you can put different stuffs again?
*not the battery, the memory stick.
| Same question
I imagine its just a case of formatting it once your through installing, before returning the battery to normal mode (least i HOPE) |

Just had to register to thank Hercules for this great tutorial!
Yesterday I bought a fat PSP with OFW 3.71 on it.
When I started reading the downgrade tutorials on the net I got discouraged from the hard battery mod stuff.
But then I found this and it worked out great!!!
Just one minor addition:
after going through the procedure I had to do the following:
- boot PSP with 'R' button pressed. This opens the "M33 recovery menu"
- Go to "Configuration"
- set "UMD Mode" to "Sony ... - NO UMD"
AFAIK, this allows the PSP to run with no disc inserted.
Once again... Thanks! |

HELpppPPPpp | Its Just what Hercules said in the previous post, you probably have a TA-085v2 or above motherboard in your psp ..... These motherboard do not support writing to battery's eeprom chip, so you cant softmod ....... To confirm this you can download & run PSPident and check your motherboard model .....
You can download it form here PSPident 0.3 (identify your PSP version info - 3.xx kernel/slim compatible) - MaxConsole Forums

First of all, this guide looks great, I am gonna mo0d my psp with this guide after school today. I just had a quick question before I start.
Another guide (yours is way better) says that if you want to restore the battery, you need to save the battery's EEPROM by pressing triangle just before you mod the battery. With this method is the origonal EEPROM restored, or is a new one generated? |

The phat battery runs fine in the slim, with the battery cover off. The slim battery, thanks to a small useless tab, will not fit in the phat. This makes me feel mad. I still haven't decided to cut the tab off, or risk my friends battery. Just a quick heads up to all you noobs like me. PS: the guide looks great, ill get it working tonight. |

For those of you who have been following my epic 4 post journey, I am in the last steps, installing the updates, but these are the e-z steps, the guide worked perfectly. The corrupt data error was solved when I read the previous replys, copy the contents, not the folder to your psp. I almost had a heart attack when my friends PSP appeared not to boot, he is twice my size and even if he wasn't I'm nice enough to pay for damages. Fourtunatly his psp is just slow booting. Every thing is working perfectly. |

Is this guide used for installing CFW onto a new PSP Slim when you already have a PSP Slim with CFW? |
