Default Easy-To-Use Pandora's Battery Guide

Hey, great guide, quick question though:

I got everything to work and I (apparently) installed 3.71 M33 just like the guide said. However, after I installed it I wasn't given the option to restart my PSP I was only given the option to shutdown my PSP. If I hit X and then restart it brings me back to the menu where I can either hit X to install 3.71/hit O to install origional 3.71/Hit [] to dump the nand/restore nand and dump physically.

What's going on here?

Default Easy-To-Use Pandora's Battery Guide

Cutting open the plastic shell of the battery was a nightmare, and I tried to follow the guidelines in the guide and on the video, and still i managed the prick a hole in the batter while trying to pry at the plastic shell. There was flame-spark, and that scared the hell out of me lol.

Anyways I put the battery back in my fat PSP and it still worked.

What's your take on this. is the battery still safe to use?
should I cover the hole with tape?
Or will the thing eventually heat up and blow?

This is my first attempt at hard-modding a battery. I successfully managed to break pin #5 of chip s93c56 next to IC04. as per the guide said. I'm still working on it and moving on to next step?

Default Easy-To-Use Pandora's Battery Guide

First post...
So let me add a little back story;
Quite some time ago, I manged to brick my PSP. At first I thought it was only Semi bricked, so I go to enter the recovery menu, no luck. My friend then chimes in, "You got the perfect colour for your PSP. Red like the brick it is!"
So naturally for a while i was disheartened, my parents sure werne't going to buy me a new PSP, and I wasn't about to dish out the cash either, and the only fixes I could fidn online were for "Semi" briked PSP. where you could actually access the recovery menu and so on, tough luck, right?
So today my friend shows me this thread here.

So I started cutting open my slim's battery, problem is, my knife was a little sharper than I expected, and it sliced through the casing like a hot knife through butter. Ouch, a plume of smoke arose, and a nasty little smell too. I stopped what I was doing and let the battery cool down, popped it back in my PSP And turn it on, green lights.
I figure it should still be good to go, I see no visible damage to the motherboard or the battery itself, no punctures or anything.
So I follow the guide and cut along the gold line and so forth.

Now here's my dilemma, first off I'm not sure if my battery is still good, it charges and everything, and turns it on. Also, my friend says that popping in a Pandora Battery will turn the PSP on automatically(?) and it does all this.
However, I can't make my Magic Memory Stick until Friday, because I have no way to connect my Pro Duo to the computer without using my friend's psp.

Question is, is my battery still good? Or should I purchase two others, one to mod in to a Pandora, and the other to keep?

If your battery auto-turns on your PSP, then you need to keep that one as your pandora until it burns out.

I do suggest buying a new battery for daily use, though.

Default Easy-To-Use Pandora's Battery Guide

I need a bit of help, i skimmed through the thread but i didn't see anyone with the same problem. If this has been answered before, point to it please.

I followed the directions down to the mark and it doesn't work for me =\

I was told you couldn't mod the newer psp so i bought a refurbished darth vader psp. it has ofw 6.10. is this why it doesn't work or am i doing something wrong?

You're doing something wrong since all Vader Slims are hackable.

The problem you're likely having is that your battery isn't hackable.

Go to DealExtreme: Cool Gadgets at the Right Price - Site-Wide Free Shipping (Page 1) and buy a pandora battery. Make an MMS from your memory stick using Rain's MMS Maker.

Seriously, just buy one from DX and your problems will be solved. They're only $6.32. It is the single best $6.32 you can spend on PSP-related stuff.

I've been using my Pandora from DX for about 2 years and have not had one problem with it.

I'm having a similar problem, I've followed the guide down to the letter, and yet when I put in my MMS and Pandora battery, all I get is a black screen with the green power light (which just tells me my pandora was made alright). I've tried several different ways to make a MMS and so far none worked, I don't get what's going wrong. Is it because I'm using vista? I mean I've tried it on 2 different memory sticks (a 512mb and a 4gig).

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say your PSP is a Piano Black or Blue Madden Slim that came out of the box with 4.01 official firmware.

Did I guess right?
