Default How To Open And Repair The Psp

Alright a few things to help ya here ppl, 1st off, the square button on all first and second build psp's, is universally flawed, sony already admitted to this it being too close to the screen and a lillte of center and not directly above the rubber contact, if its getting stuck b4 you go out and pay some weirdo to some hard earned cash to fix it(which you could do it yourself ) these are a couple of things to try first

1. use that ver very helpful guide on taking the face plate off(dont forget the button serial screw ofcourse)

(to avoid screwin up the warrenty for this heat the sticker on top of the screw in the battery compartment "carefully" and then remove it slowly, a corner at first, if you notice it still showing "void" and are afraid jus leave it im sure a lil corner peel isnt warrenty void. this usually works because the stcker has a type of glue stuff that stays with the psp when removed to make the voids visible)

....and then make sure the rubber contacts along with the ribbon contacts are clean.

2nd Make sure they both(rubber and the ribbontype) are correctly placed or centered, because if they are offset even just a bit they become completely disfunctional. And the button sticking is sometimes due to the rubber peice being outta line and not holding the button in place as meant to be, because of sony's "Ok, even if it is flawed" square button placement. Hope this helped!

thanks man

edit: i finally figured out what was wrong! if this ever happens to anyone else, make sure to check that the d-pad ribbon is completely flat against the board under it. The adhesive under it had weakened in one place, so it was sticking up slightly. When i pressed it back down, the d-pad was completely fixed, and i was completely relieved. hope some day my experience can help someone else.

Default How To Open And Repair The Psp

I'm having some trouble with one of my psp's.

I bought it off ebay so I knew it wasn't working already, but I'm curious and I'd like to try to fix it for the hell of it.

The power button seems to work briefly, for half a second, it will light up green and then off. The screen itself doesn't light up. I was curious so I placed a pandora battery in it to see what it does, and it actually makes the led light blink even if i'm not pressing the on button. It doesn't power on or light up with the battery in or out, and the ac adapter will turn it orange, but thats it, it will not turn it on. The mother board appears to be a ta-082 mother board, so any suggestions as to what it could be? I was considering it was the abxy circuit but i'd like to get a pro's opinion before pursuing a solution.
