if youre serious about homebrew and emulation, install custom firmware
Sorry for another noob question what the diff. with custom and just original firmware and how do i downgrade to 1.5 and if i dont lik e1.5 can i come back to 2.71Originally Posted by julie
custom firmware allows u to play the latest umd games without having to update the firmware. the hacked firmware features the ability to keep your homebrew AND still play the commerical umd releases. custom firmware aslo has a hacked psx emulator so u can play your psx games on it.
if u dont like 1.50, u can update back to 2.71. same goes for the custom firmware. it allows u to return to 1.50 and reinstall sony's firmware
Also where can i find all the version and which ones to install and how to insall??
EDIT :: How would you put a GBA Emulator on Version 2.71 you have the tutorial 1.50??
psp-hacks.com has the latest versions
try them all out and see which u like best. i cant reccomend specifics
read my "how to install emulators" tutorial.
downgrade
Damn, this guy has got you whipped Julie...lol...
But to be helpful, http://pspupdates.qj.net/ is a good site with a list of stuff, Browse on the right under Emulators...
or go to the downloads section and it's on the left
I'm not sure whether they both go to the same place...

Got to say it though, if your running 2.71, before you downgrade, double check to see if you have the ta82 motherboard. Otherwise you'll brick your psp, that said check out the various stickies and you'll have no problem, plus I cannot recommend the 3.03oe-b custom firmware enough and others here will testify to that!
3.03 oe-b works for ta-82s, first youll have to downgrade to 1.5
ta-82s are both downgrable and custom firmware flashable (well 3.03 oe-b works atleast)
