Hi. So I just got sony psp btw It's fu**** sweet! ;] I bought 4gig memory stick pro duo (sony) and here is a problem. Well I cannot write on it. When I try to put smthng on it under windows it says " the drive is write protected" I know that on old memory stick is a tiny button. But I cannot find one on pro duo. Can smbd tell me how to take that protection off?

    Thank you

Try PC formatting if you havent. If that fails right click on the memstick icon on your pc and make sure the "read only" option is unchecked and check for similar options that might prevent write. if that fails, call sony. memsticks shouldnt be write protect out of the box.

connect the PSP via USB with the MS in it. go to my computer, and right click the drive that is the PSP, make sure the read-only option is not checked.

This is true, then do this
Try PC formatting if you havent. If that fails right click on the memstick icon on your pc and make sure the "read only" option is unchecked
Unless the Memstick is locked ( wheither it can be or not don't know) should be able to format if you have a partition manager like partiton Magic or Paragon on your PC, these should let you see all of the drives (local or removable) check on the removable (PSP) drive delete it and the create a new partiton format to fat16 or just fat but not to fat32 then if all goes well you should be able to reformat memory stick using PSP. I hope it helps
God made man but the Moneys applied the glue
