you can try going into recovery and choose no-umd option try that to load the game.

Any advice on this would really help me out. I have a psp (3.40 OE-A) with a broken umd drive, I really want to play monster hunter freedom on it but I can't load the iso it just keeps crashing does anyone know if I can get a replacment drive or get around this somehow? I have the MHF umd aswell but can't read it the disc just spins and makes some clicking sounds. Please help this is the only game I really even play on my psp...

Yeah I already tried that but no luck just a black screen... The iso runs just fine on my friends psp with 3.40 Oe-a, but he needs a umd in the drive and no-umd turned off.
well the best solution is to replace it there is good videos on youtube.

Yeah I could replace the drive no problem if I had one But where could I get one? I hear all kinds of horrible stories about people getting ripped off when buying off ebay... I also checked out the videos you mentioned wow i had no idea there was so much stuff on youtube about psp's thanks for the tip.
